I think you hit the nail on the head with this. LeBron will mostly pick players that have superior athleticism and all-around talent, Curry will mostly pick players that have superior skill or are specialists in a particular area.

Both are reflections of the players themselves, in a way.

I think lebron picks russ first so they can go at the dubs

My money is on LeBron taking Giannis with his first pick. Curry will come back with Durant and I'm not sure who else. From there, it's a crapshoot, IMO.

I expect Kyrie to be the last starter picked because Curry is a guard and LeBron won't want him.

LeBron would be smart to reassemble the old-school Thunder by taking Durant first, James Harden second, and Westbrook third.

Westbrook isnt a starter so he cant be picked in the top eight picks. Each captain has to make his first four initial picks based off of the starters.

I see...

I'd still think he should pick Durant and Harden in that order. Or perhaps, Durant, Davis, Harden if Curry didn't pick them...

Fun fact, every all star game team captain in the history of the NBA was born in Akron Ohio.

When do they pick? Have they announced?

Anyway, LBJ said he was trying to win. So I think he will pick KD first. Then Steph will take probably Harden or Giannis, that leaves LBJ to take either AD for sure or whichever one of Harden or Giannis he didn't pick. Steph probably won't pick Kyrie with any of his top picks so that also leaves LBJ a great PG later or if Steph does take him, opens the door to make a huge team.

LBJ is in a great position if he takes KD first.

It's done:

Wow, LeBron's team is pretty insane. Pelicans bigs with Love and Zinger off the bench along with Wall and Westbrook.

Remember though that teams don't usually play much defense in all star games.

Just because you have a bunch of bigs that can clamp down on defense - are they the skillset you want for an all-star game?

Or will the game cater to high scorers and small guards who drive to the rim, like it usually does, with scores approaching 200 points on either side?

You can play 5 small scorers at the same time in an ASG, but not 5 bigs.

I'm predicting Curry's team wins by 20+ actually.
