OFFICIAL DRAFT ORDER

  2. @sportscoach
  3. @Lord Mar
  4. @BimboColesHair
  5. @Stark
  6. @JDailey23
  7. @Mott the Hoople
Snake draft. Try not to take a week when you're up. This is going to take a good chunk of time but just try to get your picks in as timely as possible.

@CBBI is officially on the clock with the first pick. Please tag the next guy up.

I'll make a draft board similar to the last one later on, we should be able to keep track of things pretty well for the first few rounds.

With the first pick in the 2022 All-Time Ind-Guardians RCF Fantasy Draft, @CBBI selects…

Tris Speaker, centerfielder
F4474D24-6814-44C7-B03B-1156EC2D6099.jpeg

Why: Considered one of the greatest offensive and defensive center fielders in the history of Major League Baseball, Speaker compiled a career batting average of .345. His 792 career doubles represent an MLB career record.

Speaker played 11 years for Cleveland and amassed 1965 of his 3514 career hits with the club.

@sportscoach is on the clock

With the third pick in the 2022 All-Time Ind-Guardians RCF Fantasy Draft, @Lord Mar selects…

Jim Thome, 1B, MLB Hall-of-Fame

9d580e78122c03da7902823fed61549b.jpg

Why: Considered one of the greatest offensive threats in Indians history, Thome compiled a batting average of .287 with a .414 OBP in 13 seasons with the Tribe. He topped 100+ hits in 8 seasons. He also had 6 seasons where he combined for both 100+ RBIs and 100+ BBs.

Thome started his career as a third baseman with Cleveland, before transitioning over to first base and eventually DH near the end of his career.

Jim is 8th all-time in major league history with 612 home runs.

Thome was known for his plate stance, which included him grabbing his junk and pointing his bat to the sky.

I don't think bat speed and exit velo was around during his time, but I can guarantee you he'd be near the top of the listing.

I'll give @BimboColesHair until 7 AM tomorrow to get his pick in or we'll just skip over him to keep things going. Not going to make a selection for him since it's the first round, so if he does get skipped, he'll just be able to make his pick whenever he gets online next.

Give me '99 Manny Ramirez.

I'll do a full writeup when I get home from work - just wanted to keep things moving in case @JDailey23 is around tonight. He's on the clock.

With the last pick in the 1st round I take maybe the greatest steal in an Indians trade ever; CF Kenny Lofton.
  • In 94 led AL in hits, 160, and SB 60
  • Indians career leader in SB
  • Career WAR 48.6
  • Played CF as good, or better, than Myles Straw
  • Traded for Halle Berry's ex-husband.
  • Future HOF'er. Snubbed in vote, but Veterans Committee will someday let him in. So there's that.

Mott - you're up.

Snake draft.
With the 1st pick in the 2nd Round I take the Sandy Koufax of the turn of the century, (no not the last turn of the century.) Addie Joss.

  • Unfortunately a short career. But had a helluva run.
  • MLB career leader in lowest WHIP 0.968
  • 1904 AL ERA leader 1.59
  • Official member of the HOF

@JDailey23 You're up.

Alrighty, haven't had a chance to do my write-up for my first rounder yet, so here that is along with my second round pick:

1st Round Pick - 1999 Manny Ramirez, OF

090315-MLB-CLE-Manny-Ramirez.vresiz-90091b744e39f410VgnVCM100000d7c1a8c0____.jpg

In 1999, Manny had his best overall season in Cleveland. That year, he hit .333/.442/.663/1.105 with 44 HR, 165 RBI, 131 R, 34 2B, 174 OPS+, and 7.3 bWAR.

Manny was never the greatest defensive outfielder, but I'm willing to let that slide considering he put up one of the best offensive season in franchise history in 1999.

With my 2nd Round Pick in the 2nd All-Time Ind- Guardians RCF Fantasy Draft, the Wailing Wahoos select...

AL ROSEN, THIRD BASEMEN

restricted

The last MVP winner for Cleveland, I'll 100% be taking Rosen in his amazing 1953 MVP Season.

That year, Rosen hit .336/.422/.613/1.034 with 43 HR, 145 RBI, 115 R, 201 H, 180 OPS+, and 367 TB to go along with a crazy 10.2 bWAR.

M. Ramirez and Rosen hitting #3 and #4 for me is one of the best one-two punches you can put together in Cleveland lore. I'll take it.

@BimboColesHair is on the clock.

With my 2nd round pick I will take:

"Shoeless" Joe Jackson, RF

One of the greatest hitters of all time, 1 of 20 players to ever hit .400 in a season, and the model for Babe Ruth's batting stance had his best seasons as a member of the Cleveland Naps. Over the course of 674 games in Cleveland he compiled a .375/.441/.542 slash line and averaged 6 rWAR a season, and finished runner up for an MVP award in 1913.

I didn't know we were taking specific seasons versions of guys, so I will put the year version next to them down below:

Round 1: Nap Lajoie, 2B - 1910 version (.383/.444/.514 slash, 9.8 bWAR, 51 2B, 26 SB, 227 H)
Round 2: Shoeless Joe Jackson, RF - 1911 version (.408/.468/.590 slash, 9.2 bWAR, 45 2B, 41 SB, 233 H)

@Lord Mar is up

Well done people — good start! Nap and Tris being two favorite picks so far.
Sorry to have missed the festivities, but I was at Volleyball nationals last week, and soooo out of the loop…enjoy!
