All-Time Ind- Guardians RCF Fantasy Draft, Pt. II

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Alright, onto my next sleeper pick.... @CATS44 you should be old enough to remember this one! lol

My ninth round pick SP Vean Gregg

he was a nasty left hander with a mean curve ball! He had an 8.8 WAR in his rookie season of 1911!

With my 9th pick I will take:

Ken Keltner, 3B, 1948 version

Keltner played all but 13 games in his career in a Cleveland uniform, was a 7 time All Star, and his career peaked in 1948, a year in which he helped Cleveland win a World Series. He posted a .297/.395/.522 slash with 31 HR, 119 RBI, 89 BB, and 91 R worth 6.1 bWAR.

Round 1: Nap Lajoie, 2B - 1910 version (.383/.444/.514 slash, 9.8 bWAR, 51 2B, 26 SB, 227 H)
Round 2: Shoeless Joe Jackson, OF - 1911 version (.408/.468/.590 slash, 9.2 bWAR, 45 2B, 41 SB, 233 H)
Round 3: Gaylord Perry, SP - 1972 version (342 IP, 24 W, 1.92 ERA, 10.8 bWAR, 7 CGSO, 0.978 WHIP)
Round 4: Grady Sizemore, OF - 2006 version (.290/.375/.533 slash, 6.7 bWAR, 53 2B, 11 3B, 28 HR, 22 SB, 134 R)
Round 5: Early Wynn, SP - 1956 version (277 IP, 20 W, 2.72 ERA, 7.8 bWAR, 18 CG, 154 ERA+)
Round 6: Mel Harder, SP - 1934 version (255 IP, 20 W, 2.61 ERA, 8.0 bWAR, 6 CGSO, 173 ERA+)
Round 7: Elmer Flick, OF - 1906 version (.311/.372/.441 slash, 6.5 bWAR, 195 H. 98 R, 39 SB)
Round 8: Ray Chapman, SS - 1917 version (.302/.370/.409 slash, 7.8 bWAR, 170 H, 98 R, 52 SB)
Round 9: Ken Keltner, 3B - 1948 version (.297/.395/.522 slash, 6.1 bWAR, 31 HR, 119 RBI, 89 BB)

With my 9th round pick, the Wailing Wahoos select...

David Justice, outfielder.

Justice was at his best in 1997 for Cleveland. That season, Justice slashed .329/.418/.596/1.013 with 33 HR, 31 2B, 101 RBI, 163 H, and 4.7 oWAR. Justice finished with an all-star appearance, silver slugger, and came in 5th in MVP voting.

Not a great defender, but I'll gladly stick Justice in a corner outfield spot to get his bat in the lineup.

First 9 picks:
  1. Manny Ramirez
  2. Al Rosen
  3. Luis Tiant
  4. Francisco Lindor
  5. Cliff Lee
  6. Travis Hafner
  7. Shane Bieber
  8. Andrew Miller
  9. David Justice
@JDailey23 is on the clock.

Dailey told me to pick an outfielder for him, so he gets Minnie Minoso.

In 1959, Minoso slashed .302/.377/.468/.846 with 172 H, 21 HR, 92 RBI, and 32 2B.

@Mott the Hoople is up for back to back picks.

Hell of a pick - was wondering when he would go given the ruleset. Having one of the most dominant reliever seasons in the last 30 years of the AL Central.

Williams unfortunately isn't eligible since he only played one season here - unless it's a current player on the 2022 Guardians squad (like Clase). Players need to have at least three years of playing time in Cleveland to be eligible (Williams was only here in '97). As long as the Baseball-reference thing says (CLE 3yrs) it flies with me.

OK. I will revise

@JDailey23 is up.

That was my next pick, hoping he would slide one more round for me.

Dailey had me do his last pick for him - I'll give him a day or so to see if he gets on and wants to make his pick - if not, I'll make a selection for him.

Dailey and Mar have been MIA for a good portion of this, so I'm making the unfortunate executive decision to purge the two of them from the rest of this project in the interest of getting done before half of us are in the grave. At the end, I'll combine their teams together and draft whatever it needs from whatever is left. From here on out though, you can skip over them when marking who is up next.

With my next pick, I'll take 1965 Sonny Siebert, SP, who went 16-8 with a 2.43 ERA, 2.27 FIP, and 0.98 WHIP to go along with 5.1 bWAR.

@BimboColesHair is up.

I’ll take Carlos Santana at 1B, his 2019 version.

Round 1: Nap Lajoie, 2B - 1910 version (.383/.444/.514 slash, 9.8 bWAR, 51 2B, 26 SB, 227 H)
