All-Time Indians RCF Fantasy Draft

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Really not many great closers left that are eligible. Wickman is gone, Borowski was only here two years.

Chris Perez is still lingering around out there. So is Ray Narleski.

Not every pick has to be this excellent fancy write up

It’s been over 48 hours Coach this draft isn’t all about you, just fucking pick someone

That’s what I was debating, but honestly I never liked Perez that much, you would think a franchise like the Indians would have a long list of relievers to pick from but they really don’t

I guess for me, I’ll go with...

CP Steve Olin

Was another Indians pitcher that was taken way too soon from us. In his age 26 season had 29 saves for the Indians in 92. Sadly passed away in the boating accident after the 92 season that lost another Indians player and badly hurt one as well.

My 17th round pick is Toby Harrah. In five seasons with the Tribe the infielder compiled a .281 BA, .383 OBP, .799 OPS, and 16.2 fWAR.

In his 1982 All Star season he hit .304 (9th in the AL), with a .398 OB% (2nd), .888 OPS (9th), 143 OPS+, 25 HRs, 78 RBIs and 17 stolen bases. His 7.1 offensive WAR was 2nd in the league and he put up 142 wRC+ and 5.9 fWAR.

He played mostly third base for the Indians but also a little SS and 2B, while he played all three positions throughout his career. He'll rotate as utility infielder and sometimes DH for my team.

@PIP is up next.

I’m taking Mike Hargrove

@Kevalier is on the clock for back to back picks.

Also, we are starting to get a bit deep in the draft at this point and since we're all expected to fill out a relatively realistic 25-man roster, here is what I see as team needs for all of the teams:

@JDailey23: 5 relievers, 2 IF/OF position players, 1 backup catcher
@Stark: 4 relievers, 3 IF/OF position players, 1 backup catcher
@sportscoach: 5 relievers, 2 IF/OF position players, 1 backup catcher
@daddywags: 4 relievers, 3 IF/OF position players, 1 backup catcher
@PIP: 1 starter, 6 relievers, 1 backup catcher
@Kevalier: 5 relievers, 4 IF/OF position players, 1 backup catcher

You don't have to exactly follow that layout, but make sure your team makes sense in the end.

With my 18th pick I'll double up on bullpen lefties and take Dave LaRoche. (He only pitched 2+ years for the Tribe but baseball reference lists him as 3 years with us so I think it's allowed by rule.)

In his three Tribe seasons he pitched to a 2.51 ERA, 145 ERA+, with 42 saves and 9.9 K/9.

In 1976 he saved 21 games (good for 2nd most in the league), with a 2.24 ERA (155 ERA+), 1.100 WHIP, and 3.4 bWAR. He made the All Star team that year holding righties to .180 BA against while lefties hit .165.

Fun fact - in mid-season 1977 he was included in a trade to the Angels that brought back my other bullpen lefty Sid Monge.

@sportscoach is up.

Relievers are ready to go off the board, so who should I pick...

RP Bryan Shaw!

I need a durable and reliable late inning guy. Even with the grief he got in Cleveland he really was a solid guy for the team and usually was a league leader in appearances. I feel most people really didn’t appreciated what he really did for the team.
