The pitch was nothing remarkable: Pat Venditte, Creighton University’s temporarily right-handed pitcher, threw a fastball past a Northern Iowa batter for a called strike three. It was his next windup that evinced this young pitcher’s uniqueness and, perhaps, professional future.

As his teammates whipped the ball around the infield, Venditte smoothly, unthinkingly, removed his custom glove from his left hand and slipped it on his right. Moments later he leaned back, threw a strike left-handed to the next batter, and finished the side in order.

This kid is Division 1 and can throw good stuff from both sides of the plate..

What i dont get, is how he is allowed to pitch with both arms, wouldnt he have to relieve his right arm and take his left out of the game?

It says he throws lefty vs lefty and righty vs righty..that's awesome.

He should experiment with switching throwing arms to the same batter. That could really screw a guy up. Imagine what it'd do to switch hitters? A switch hitter NEVER has to bat lefty vs a left hander and righty vs a right hander. Well, if he switched it up mid-batter and was slick about it, I bet he could get a batter in a situation where he wouldn't have time to switch to the other side of the plate. The batter would have to got righty vs righty or lefty vs lefty, which would totally screw him, since he's never had to do that before.

Your not allowed to switch pitching arms during an at bat. If you throw the first pitch right handed you have to use your right arm throughout the at bat.

However, a switch hitter can change sides of the plate however many times he wants too.

That's awsome. He could create some major headaches for coaches and switch hitters.
