First of all: I hated the trade, even though Frankie was such a dick. For about a year and a half, I hoped for nothing more than to offload this impatient, slap-hitting, caught-stealing prone, replacement level defender with a huge platoon split for nearly anything we could get. Clearly, he was just another Larvell Blanks. Throwing sidearm from the hole, geez.

We had no idea what to do with him. "Hey Amed, why not try center field for us?" "OK, do I do it like this?"
"Well that wasn't so good Amed, how about left field?" "Sure thing, is that the one over there?"

And play he did, never pouting one damn time. And the bat came around, and then a little improvement in the field.

Now if you look at Baseball Reference's player comparisons, something sticks out:

Most Similar by Ages
  1. Orlando Arcia (979.9)
  2. Jimmy Rollins (975.9)
  3. Leo Cardenas (970.4)
  4. Asdrubal Cabrera (960.2)
I had no idea who Orlando Arcia really was/is, but he had a nice age 22 campaign. The rest of the list? That's some damn ballplayers.

Bottom line: We may have a few players in the bush yet, but we got a Bona Fide one in our hand, right now.

This thread dedicated to @rcristal who has put in a Lot of work.

BTW, the numbering of the most similar players should read age 22,23,24,25. I can't format text for nothin'.

We need to just take the Dolans advice and enjoy him for forever long he had here. Root him on, enjoy his highs, dismiss his lows, and genuinely root for him to finish so strongly he gets the Gs a 10th, even 11th guy for the Top 100 Prospects list.

Amed was a solid player for Cleveland at the end of the day... He just had so much talent behind him including at one point essentially 3 top 100 prospects... That's what really got him most of the hate...

That being stated, he's supposed to be going to the Dodgers, so he is going to e legit contender, so he's going to another pennant race!

I still have hopes for andres g. I would not trade him straight up for lindor now if I have to pay lindor 30 mil a year forv8 years.

How much extra do we have to pay Amed to take Cam with him on his way out?

(In reality, nobody hates Amed. I'm just sad that the organization impacted the development of Arias and Freeman in order to keep this not good player around.)

I’d be halfway shocked if he’s still here end of 8/1.

I agree, I think Cam will be out, but with Rosario gone, the ABs open way up so it's not like he's taking away ABs from them... I hope he is the one who barely plays now...
