Andraez “Greedy” Williams: Round 2, Pick 46

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Sounds like he needs a nerve block...reset that shit. I considered that after a motorcycle accident I had 10 years ago (might have discussed it on here). Still no bicep - nerves won't fire that muscle. Forearm weak too. I do everything with my right, so I have elbow problems with it now...and that arm is twice the size as my left. This might be what is ailing Greedy....

At the same time, Williams had to deal with fans and trolls on social media accusing him of faking the injury and not having the heart and desire to play the game.

“That was kind of one of those things was messing with me too,’' Williams said. “People don’t understand really what nerve damage is. It’s a serious matter for your health. Nerves are weird. They work on their own time, so you just never know.’'

I might question Greedy living up to his full potential, but why the fuck do people have to troll him or act like a guy who dreamed of playing in the NFL his whole life.

I think Greedy is CB4 this year, maybe the best CB4 in the league, but with health issues for corners in general, and dime packages, ect, Greedy will be needed.

Further, he is a Brown and I always root for the guys in the Brown's uniform no matter who they are, and Greedy actually seems like a likeable guy besides.

Can't help but point out during the season our community wasn't above scapegoating Greedy. RCF had several posts when injuries hit the defensive backs that went after Greedy hard. The internet generally struggles with understanding the human aspect of pro athletes.

Keys, hate to say this, but I'm pretty sure they are cylons.

My C5 nerve got pulled out of my spinal cord in a work related accident back in '93. Left deltiod paralyzed, no feeling there. About 50% function of the left bicep, and so on-so forth all the way down the arm. It was totally dead until they cleaned out a bone growth and bunch of scar tissue at the Mayo Clinic while trying to re-attach the nerve (unsuccessfully). The next day all the rest of the nerves started firing and my arm started to tingle and wake up. I got about 40% function back after PT. So I empathize with Greedy on this.

My right arm is getting worn out too, I have to stay aware to not overdo it with that arm.

Damn.

Just got my first cortisone shot in C6-7 this week for a herniation and subsequent radiculopathy zapping my tricep, elbow and forearm.

Everyone keeps saying 6 months to feel normal again, I can’t imagine lowering my shoulder on anything. Can’t imagine the rehab to get back on an NFL field.

Nerve damage is a lengthy process.

Yeah, nerve problems are no joke. People ragging on Greedy for his problems are assholes.

Hooooly shit.

Like, I don’t have anything to contribute to this conversation other than that. That is absolutely brutal. I hope you’re able to have a somewhat functionally normal life after dealing with something like that.

And I really hope you feel better.

They rated me as 40% permanently disabled for worker's comp purposes. Once I returned to work after 2 years of surgeries, healing and rehab, I never missed a beat, other than going from a physically demanding role in my industry to management and now I'm a safety manager. I have permanent aches, pains, and whatever, but it's better than the other potential outcome (being dead).

The one in Rochester Minnesota. I was hurt in Montana. It happened almost 30 years ago and at the time it felt like it aged me 30 years overnight, but by now I guess my age has caught up with how it feels. I actually feel pretty awesome and fortunate considering what happened.

Every time I see this thread bumped I expect to discover news that he will never play again
