Andrew “Euro Step” Harrison

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
In the last 5 years, how many G-League players have worked out? I remember Starks back in the day, but seems not many are coming in from the G-League anymore, but I could be wrong for sure

Quinn Cook? It happens, but rarely.

I think Yogi Ferrell is the prime example of a player that came out of the d-league and stuck. Cook might be a better player but he really bounced back and forward between teams and the d-league until last season.

This remains one of my favorite board posts ever. I crack up every time I see it :chuckle:

There are bunch of drafted guys that go into the gleague and work on their game and return to the nba and have success, but very few guys that go that route from the beginning. The #1 pure Gleague success story has to be Jonathan Simmons. Undrafted, played all year in the gleague and had an NBA contract the next year. Now he has a big free agent contract. Pretty cool.

Alonzo gee basically went this route too, and got multiple contracts even if he didn't have the success simmons has.

Sometimes I wonder if there isn't a lot of bias and talent goes over looked in the gleague like it once did in Europe, but you have to figure if it were true these call ups would out perform more.

I'm not sure the two way contracts are the best for some of these players. Like you said alot of guys go up and down then it comes together with the right team. Being stuck on one team alot of times can hurt them. We might have picked up one of the two way players if they were in the G-league pool instead of Harrison.

The two way contract was a weird middle ground solution to try to get the G-league talent pool better. I think the salaries in general need to be higher for the G-league to keep players from going to Europe.

That's the big one. Anyone that feels like they can actually contribute and isn't scared goes to Europe for the money.

Whoever gets healthy first should push this guy to the bench. Let Burks be the backup PG if Hill isn't the first one healthy.
