Starting this year RCF will hold an annual holiday fundraiser and this year it is for Toys for Tots!

As you know, the United States Marine Corps has long championed Toys for Tots, and our good friend @The Human Q-Tip created this donation drive, IN ADDITION to running the operations of the charity in his region. The man is a Toy-to-Tot machine!

Please learn more about the drive in Cuyahoga County here: https://brookpark-oh.toysfortots.or...px?nPageID=100&nPreviewInd=200&nRedirectInd=3

100% of donations will go to Toys for Tots!

However, if you would like to make a direct donation to TFT, or would like to donate toys, find out more here: https://www.toysfortots.org/request_toys/Default.aspx

Thanks so much to RCF and @Sebastian for promoting this!

Last year, Toys for Tots nationally provided over 19 million toys to over 7.3 million children. That means that about half of all the children living under the poverty line in this country received their Christmas toys from Toys for Tots.

As some of you know, I am a county coordinator for Toys for Tots. Every single person at the local level is a volunteer, and even the National Foundation is so leanly staffed that 97 cents out of every donated dollar goes to toys, and the rest is promotional materials. The entirety of the national paid staff is paid solely out of some of the interest earned by monetary donations, so literally $0 of the donated money is used for salaries. So this is one charity where you know that your money is going to the beneficiaries of the charity, and not to pay a bloated staff.

If you have the inclination and resources, please feel free to click on the link in the pinned post, and make a donation. You can donate either to the National campaign, or pick your local county campaign for the donation -- it's all very worthwhile. Last Monday, the warehouse in Tuscarawas County Ohio burned down to the ground will all their toys inside. I was on the phone with the coordinator that next day, a tough 86 year old former Marine, and he told me they were already receiving massive phone calls from the local community and from National promising support, and I know National already sent them an additional 6000 toys.

So again, thank you. There isn't anything that makes it feel more like Christmas than knowing that you brightened the Christmas morning of a child who otherwise might get nothing.

I hope you sent cash and not a used ... toy.

We have, over the years, received a few "adult" toys in boxes. They were set aside to be discarded, but they kind of disappeared when it was time to fill the dumpster.

Not coincidentally, most of our warehouse volunteers are female, so the math ain't that hard.

Batteries not included.

Just wanted to say, I might hate the county I live in because of politics. But good ol T County really banded together after the fire. I know it was his first year as county coordinator too. There wasn't a local business that didn't go into overdrive collecting toys.

Dude, My parents just talked to me about this fire and I knew it because of you. Sounds like their friends in Lorain County (and a bunch of others) helped pick up the slack. Great job all around! Love to see it.

...Also, how are those pooper-poker toys I donated to you working out?
