I think the Wiz are recovering nicely from losing Hughes. Daniels-Arenas-C.Butler-Jamison-Haywood. Pretty strong starting five, though I dont think they should keep Jamison at the 4.

although this probably means they will take devean george and not chuck atkins in that deal..

they have two tweener guards n the backcourt and a tween at the 4 if they in fact play that starting 5..

i can't imagine that..they would get abused..

His agent said that to pressure teams into trying to sign him and it worked. That is a common tactic, my guess is Buss and Allen lowballed him and he took the more money for less playing time.

The Wiz ponied up. Were prolly getting a ton of pressure from local media, and made this desparate signing. I love AD, went to college with him, and have followed his career closely. He choose the right year to be a FA,,,any other year, he doesn't get that money. Now the Wiz have him until he's 35 - he'll be decent, but he isn't their answer. Then again, there wasn't much else out there...

Congrats to AD - he really turned his career around and lived up to that #4 pick.

I loved AD since he was a Grizzle him and SAR were my favorite players when I first started watching the NBA, then he went to San Antonio and bounced around a bit..I would have liked to see us cut ties with Snow as much as we all like him using the CBA and tried to get him..

Daniels is a solid player and a nice addition for the Wiz but that contract is way too much for him. He'd be best as a 3rd G off the bench and giving a PG role player a 5 year deal at his age is a risk.
I wouldn't have minded him on the Cavs if some other options didn't work out but not at that price. The Cavs reportedly will get both Marshall and Sarunas at only a slightly more money that the Wiz gave Daniels.
