Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Most recent favorite was Hunter x Hunter for sure that got me hooked, also been binging a lot of Yoshiaki Kawajiri productions (Vampire Hunter D/ Ninja Scrolls/wicked city. Personally anything dark/ psychological or twisted does it for me :) Neon genesis ofc, Gantz (the manga) when they cry, memories, to name a few, Elfen lied, Claymore (manga)

Kemono Jihen and Jujutsu Kaisen would be stuff for you to look at then since they have the paranormal/undead aspects to their stories. I am not sure how dark or twisted they get (I only watched like the firstish episodes of both).

Cowboy Bebop is one of my all-time favorite shows for any genre. The soundtrack, the writing, everything about it is amazing.

I similarly loved Samurai Champloo, another masterpiece from Shinichiro Watanabe. Black Lagoon and the first season of FLCL (haven’t watched the newer ones) were old favorites, as well.

I didn’t watch anime for many many years, but started again recently as I am learning Japanese ahead of a planned trip next year and wanted to use it as a small part of listening comprehension practice.

I finished the first season of Jujutsu Kaisen (I’m assuming there will be a season 2) and am about 68 episodes into Black Clover. Gotta admit, it’s pretty cool to be able to look away from the TV and progressively understand more and more of what’s being said.

NANI?! :chuckle:

I have a Japanese tutor who is a native speaker. I had to explain to her why that’s a meme :chuckle:

It’s actually not bad once you realize what’s slang and that translations to English are honestly more elaborate/diverse than what’s actually being said in Japanese.

I won’t sound like a walking textbook when I visit, but thankfully I don’t think I’m going to sound like a cartoon character either haha

Seven Knights Revolution: Eiyuu no Keishousha, looks like it could potentially be a good one. It's on my watch list for sure!

This just came out, so check it out! Whole bunch of anime this month!

Anymore animes you guys wanna talk about? Aka I am trying to get this thread bumping lol

I'm excited for the new season of Castlevania. Kind of sad it'll be the last season with this cast of characters.

I did just finish Hunter x Hunter a month ago so I've been on an anime break. Not sure what to start next. I kind of want to start Bleach if anyone would recommend it.

I haven't watched Bleach (I mostly stayed away from the older mainstream ones). What type of anime do you like?

Not sure what type really. I've watched FMAB, Helsing, Yu yu Hakusho, Code Geass, Death Note, Gurren Lagann, etc. I guess I either need stereotypical anime or a really good thriller. Code Geass and Death Note definitely keep you on the edge of your seat, even though Death Note did lag a bit at the end.

I'm almost always watching the sword/magic action/adventure ones lol Rising of the Shield Hero ends up being the perfect fit for the genre of story I really like. You may like Rising of the Shield Hero to be honest.

I second Shield Hero. Its one of the better shows to come out in the last few years.

Bleach is good for like 60 episodes and then drowns in filler. The start is a bit slow but the Soul Society Arc is excellent.

As for thrillers, I've heard good things about Psycho-pass. Its a bit more supernatural but similar atmosphere. I would also recommend Another, but that is basically horror.

@SpanishCavsfan

The new anime 86 seems like it could be really good if the story goes where I hope it could...

Also have you seen Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-Blooded orphans? It's actually really good!

I have not! I was thinking of giving the Pacific Rim show a go since I adore the first movie but I'll look up your recommendations.
