Any Anime watchers?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I dont think it will be closer to Snow White with the Red Hair action wise. It does follow a healer rather than a warrior/fighter so it's not going to have the action/deep enemies some others will.
There wasnt much in the first season. And all the combat seems to be against faceless monsters, so until we get a corrupt noble or something similar as a villian, I expect it to continue on this track. Snow White also had corrupt nobles but you are right, these two anime are very similar.

I wish they stayed to the light novel though, once you finish I will tell you why... I felt it was an easy watch/way more light hearted than a lot of them and there is supposed to be a second season eventually since it has a lot of day to day things in the light novel.
I finished it. I feel like they have two directions for season 2 (with no knowledge of the LNs), either they time skip to 3 years (my preference) or they go forward without the nobles. The last 4-5 episodes kinda felt like nothing happened.

The Gods kind of set up his location because its a well run and peaceful land. The Jamil family has worked to keep poverty down and give the people jobs so its stable and peaceful, so the anime has been criticized because it doesn't have enough action... In the light novel the battle at the mines is way different and its way better than what's in the anime. Ryoma did way less battling in the mines and omitted minor characters that are constantly popping up in the story later.

Plus they omitted a character that ends up being important in Elia's arc/life also in one of the scenes with the merchant guild (sad part is, the character only has a 5 second scene in the LN, but the connection effects Elia immensely).

Next scenes have more action, but there isn't major enemies, just minor ones... it's almost got a slice of life rather than an action adventure.

Yeah at no point did I feel like there was some kind of overarching background plot or real conflict. Which is totally fine, but I can see why some people wouldnt like that.

Just finished the first season of 86. Really liked it, though it def has some strong SnK vibes.

Second season is out, I am not sure how far they are in it. The one I am getting into is the Faraway Paladin...

Well for some reason they didn't make the second season for anime The 8th Son? Are you kidding me? But the main character ends up with a Harem of 19 women. Either of you think you could handle that?

Actually part of the reason it's a flop is cause of the fact they didn't really do a good job of character development and didn't do his older brothers arc in the right way. Also it doesn't become a hentai on screen, but it definitely is behind the scenes since he ends up with like 20+ kids all in his 20s...

Maybe you need to learn some Japanese and read up on how to make women happy haha...

But I 100% get it lol

Serious answer:

Unless there’s fucking involved, I don’t like spending time with women enough to do that. My wife has the type of personality I like and 99% of other women don’t. And women seem to have gotten even MORE annoying with the advent of social media since I got out of this area.

Unserious answer:

Yes.

8 of 11 i think. I am probably going to finish it once the 2nd season is totally done. Faraway Paladin is also on the list. Guess I will finally get around to finishing Golden Kamuy in the meantime

I definitely watched the first season of this but I remember nothing about it. I dont think it was remarkable in any way.

Well it ends up not being that good at the end of the day and I cannot compare it to the light novel since it's not far enough in English to know how much they went off the beaten path with the storyline.

There also has been a ton of Isekai types of anime in the last 5ish years that they have almost lost their appeal in some ways... I think it came out near Cheat Magician and The Wise Man's Grandson which weren't super appealing either (I love the characters in the Wise Man's Grandson, but the story isn't as strong going forward as I would like it).

I remember both of those more. Agree with you on Wise Man's grandson
