Baker Mayfield: Fire The Cannons

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
For sure, but it also had to be pretty significant for them to just send him home and not even have him around the team.
In this instance where eliminating either x or y likely achieves the same desired outcome for the team, I guess I don't see the release of someone as being an indictment against them when it's seemingly the easiest or most pragmatic choice for the team across all avenues. I think everyone got what they ultimately wanted, so whatever, it's over now, on to 2022.

I may agree if OBJ didn't already have one messy divorce with a team on his resume.

I think the fact that he was sent home is pretty damning.

God I fucking hope that Baker fucking lights it up next year and puts all of this fucking shit to bed. Am I allowed to hope that btw?
You can hope that. But it’s gonna be something that we have never seen before…. Cause 2020 Baker was not good enough and I think the Bakersexuals believe it was unfortunately

Didn't say I think it's likely. But yes, that's what I want to hope for.

I’m hoping for it too, Bud! I’m not a Baker guy any longer but I’m hoping he has the best season ever of any Browns QB and the Browns make some noise…. Don’t think it will happen, but I’m all for it…

Sure, you're allowed to wish for that, Emily.

Just kidding!

Next year Mayfield is going to have to put up numbers and wins commensurate with a top 10 quarterback in the league or better to get back any degree of good will from Browns fans.

At least that's where it's at for me at this point. I supported him and I honestly believed he would come through with some big plays when push came to shove. He failed, and it was not just the injuries. It was his mental state and a complete breakdown of composure that caused him to fail. The injuries may have contributed but he was also in many ways responsible for the shoulder injury, and he was 100% responsible for how his injuries and playing status were handled causing this team to lose winnable game after winnable game.

He's got a lot of bad taste and negativity to push out of the minds of the fan base to ever regain any degree of trust. And he's going to have to not only lead the team to the playoffs, he's going to have to succeed in at least going deep into the playoffs to ever regain any degree of trust, and that would probably have to happen for several seasons running.

But yeah, I'm rooting for all that to happen, sure.

So when/if Baker is announced the 2022 Browns QB, are we ALL Bakersexuals?

Baker was not good enough in 2020? JFC. Ranked top 3 over a 12 week period ending the season. When healthy, the man can ball out. People with blinders on...everywhere in this thread.
