Baker Mayfield: Fire The Cannons

Lmao, what?

Josh Allen has 76 TDs since the start of last year.

Jalen Hurts has 67.

Lamar has 61.

I'm sure there are others but those are the first three I checked.
I guess the tweet should have been more specific and indicate they were only counting passing TDs. There's always been bias against mobile QBs.

Baker: 32 + 28 passing TDs = 60 https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/M/MayfBa00.htm
Allen: 23 + 25 passing TDs = 48 https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/A/AlleJo02.htm
Hurts: 23 + 18 passing TDs = 41 https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/H/HurtJa00.htm
Jackson: 34 + 24 passing TDs = 58, he still has a good chance to do it also https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/J/JackLa00.htm

Cannon's were fired!

Only missed 5 targets today and threw for 5 touchdowns.... 27/32 359yds 5 TD 0 INT's

Meanwhile we're fortunate enough to watch DTR play some hockey out here...

Wasn’t the Browns fault here.

They’re just victims of circumstances again.

Remember, he hurt his arm and forced them to let him play so you have to look at the gray area. He needed to lose here in order to win somewhere else.

Also consider the silver lining here that the Browns will be picking in the top 5 this year and rebuilding instead of losing more meaningless playoff games like Baker.

Let’s do the classy thing and enjoy the next 10 years or so of his success with another team while we have a perfectly exciting series of rebuilds to look forward to over that same period of time.

I am a super huge Baker Bros hater... Baker wanted Josh Allen money in the summer of 2021 and bet on himself in 2021. He also has acknowledged he has changed since he left the Browns after his falling out, which he completely created himself that season in 2021. I am not sure what the Browns front office was supposed to do in the summer of 2021. Baker was the top pick of the NFL Draft. I think he was 23 or 24 when drafted and had ongoing maturity issues, which was evident in 2021. I believe it was after the New England Patriots game that Baker had a huge temper tantrum with Stef and Myles. I can go on, but Baker now is not the Baker the Browns had in 2021. He finally matured and plays in a weaker division as well, with Mike Evans, which also helps. It became pretty clear that Baker was not going to come back in 2022; that is on him, regardless of what happened with the Watson trade after the season ended.

Sam Darnold is blowing up as well this season.

Further, the Browns ownership failed. The Dorsey hiring was a disaster; Hue Jackson should never have come back in 2018; the OBJ trade was a train wreck; Dorsey drafting Baker over Allen over Jackson you can bring up as well. Or the Browns not signing Cousins in 2018 when they had all that money. Dorsey hired Kitchens over Stefanski in 2019 as well. There is a list of issues with Baker and how ownership fucked up as well...

Why are you even entertaining this nonsense lmao.

All this debate about the poster child for mediocrity, I’ll never understand it.

Will just keep pumping in memes here every other week to keep the balance and properly reflect his mediocrity.

Without looking closer I think 28:10 on 4k last year and 39:15 on 4,300 so far this year with two playoff appearances put Baker somewhere near the middle of the pack.

I’d certainly take Case Keenum, Nick Mullens, Jacoby Brissett, Deshaun Watson, Deshaun Watson again, Joe Flacco, Dorian Thompson-Robinson, P.J. Walker, Jeff Driskel, Deshaun Watson again, Jameis Winston, and Dorian Thompson-Robinson again over that shit!!!

After reading that last paragraph, I’m starting to reconsider.

Maybe the Browns DID fuck things up with Baker?!
