Baker Mayfield: Fire The Cannons

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I mean. That’s a great season. Like many have said, I feel we are about to recalibrate expectations here as legit contenders. We aren’t super bowl favorites but our team culture and expectations, and realistic fan expectations (barring no major injuries) should be win at least one playoff game.

It is a great season, he actually had a good season, he barely through a pick the last half. If you think Baker in the offense will throw 45 TD's, i just dont see it happening. Too many ground weapons too. Schwartz might get a couple of running TD's on some end arounds. Plus ball control with our now defensive talent will still be the key to victories.

My expectations are that he's starting at the improved Baker we saw as he and this team progressed throughout the year, and will continue to improve from there... which is a really damn impressive QB.

I see no reason to believe that the first seven games of the season hold credence.

I think the only people still saying things like "the Browns aren't super bowl contenders" (which I know you didn't say--I'm just making a point) are Browns fans. On paper, we probably have the most talented roster in football to surround a QB with. The only things that can put a ceiling on this season are injuries, coaching, or QB play.

Baker was showing off that old baseball potential in a home run derby:

Footage from the Jarvis Landry charity softball game. I guess Baker was a force!

That multi sport it factor is a difference maker.

So they can show up to town to play baseball but not practice with their team, huh?

***I'm 1000% joking

Could be signing Baker to his extension soon.

Sounds good to me. I would think signing him sooner rather than later would A) save the Browns a little money if Baker takes another step forward, and B) shows Baker the confidence they have him.

And he won't come cheap. nor should he come cheap. 5 years, 185 mil might be in the ball park. He's worth it.

Agreed. What is culture change and stability at the position worth to Browns fans? Priceless.

I think you are pretty close to dead on, 5 years somewhere close to 180-200 mill, depends on guaranteed money on where in there it falls.

I don’t want to talk about an extension until I see his “it” evidence.

why, you ask?

Is that really Drew Lock and WTF did i just watch?

How are some of those moves even physically possible?
