I agree with the premise, and think a healthy, confident Baker would do well in a healthy Rams team, and he's certainly a lot better than their healthy QBs.

I just don't see how this situation is any good for him, I've not watched them too much either but hasn't their line been a combination of banged up and rubbish all season? Not to mention he may get thrown in the fire on Thursday night, in a system that he was speed learning on his flight to LA, against Maxx Crosby and Chandler Jones.

I don't take any pleasure in watching him spiral this bad. I'm not going to pretend I wasn't campaigning for the Browns to draft him like I see some others on social media do. I hoped he'd be a success (as long as it doesn't get in the Browns way) somewhere else but I don't see a scenario here where he comes out of this move looking much better if at all going into FA. I'd have genuinely rather the Texans had claimed him, he's better than Mills and that would have felt like a genuine opportunity (and probably his final one) to get his career back on track.

Their O-line has been bad all season. I also think there are a lot of questions if they have the right personnel to their offense, there was a lot of talk about how they needed another top tier WR so there isn't so much focus on Kupp. The other thing is Matthew Stafford is 34 and he just might have just fall off. I think that's a reason why they claimed Baker. No one really knows if Stafford has hit that age wall or it was just a combination of a bad o-line and a poorly constructed group of playmakers.

If they are going to throw Baker in just to get hit a bunch just to round out the season, it's a bad situation for him. If they see him as potential competition for Stafford just in case he has hit that age wall and see this pick up as a head start to helping Baker pickup the offense while correcting some of his flaws before the offseason, I think it's a good situation for Baker. The Rams don't have a 1st round pick this year so they aren't getting Stafford's replacement in the draft.

I know that the cool thing in this neck of the woods is to shit all over Baker, but I'm rooting for him. Yeah, he's got some growing up to do, but I never had an issue with his dedication and motivation. Sure, I cringe at some of the stuff from him but for fuck's sake, most of us, myself included, are now invested in the success of a fucking sexual predator.

Maybe Baker did rub some people in his own locker room the wrong way. But I don't doubt that he didn't put in the work and strive to be a good teammate. That was his reputation at Oklahoma and nothing I have seen since then led me to believe otherwise. Sure, he may have milked his injury via back channels to excuse his piss poor play last year. And yeah, a decent number of dudes on the team continued to support OBJ after the shit that he pulled last year. But at the end of the day, at least for me, the positives way outweighed the negatives.

I've been a fan of this motherfucking God forsaken franchise for almost forty years. Two of the four Baker years here constituted some of the most exciting episodes of Browns fandom in my lifetime, as fucking sad as that sounds. I understand that there is some debate as to how much Baker contributed to that 2020 season, but I will be fucking damned if I don't appreciate his contribution. And I'm not gonna lie, I loved that he carried that chip on his shoulder the same way I feel like I do as a fan. I'm a sucker for that kind of shit.

I totally understand why we have moved on, and fully acknowledge that moving on from Baker was the correct decision for this franchise. But I will forever appreciate the 2018 and 2020 seasons, and I give him plenty of credit for that and as long as he doesn't completely disavow his time in Cleveland, will always have a soft spot in my heart for him.
