Baker Mayfield: Fire The Cannons

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Trading Baker to NO for Jamies Winston and then using Jamies as a bridge to Malik Willis should definitely be an option. We might even get a pick for our troubles.
Jameis is a free agent, so we could just sign him, but he’s also coming off an ACL tear. He was playing decent prior to the injury. New Orleans is a team that might have some interest in trading for Baker.

LoL, Jameis!!!! JAMEIS!!!

Same guy that wanted Kap and Cam

Los, you wouldn't even manage a Browns team on Madden to the Superbowl without turning down sliders or something :chuckle:

Bridge you say... Baker is already your bridge to whoever in 2023.
I’m entirely confident that we could get a bridge QB, with the same type of production, for a whole lot cheaper than $18M.

Baker Mayfield is quickly becoming toxic and he needs to be off the team before camp so that the new QB's can get the ball rolling. I'm not interested in a Baker 2022 underdog storyline. I've seen what I need to see.

And yes Jamies Winston would be a veteran bridge to a QB we draft this year or did you miss the part where I mentioned Malik Willis?

Also Jamies was having a good season before he got hurt.

People are ignoring the fact that Baker is a replacement level QB. I believe that Baker can be replaced easily.

I agree cause they're the same production wise.

That's the crazy part. If we were going into next season with Jameis people would be clamoring for someone else.
I'm sure if we saw 3-10, 3-6, 7-9 out of him after a winning season we'd definitely be clamoring, but that's not technically the case here.

Trade Baker, sign Trubisky and draft Willis. I would be better off with this scenario
than keeping Baker as the starter for next year. The results wont change much.
He's still an unathletic and doesn't read coverages. He should have improved on that by now.
All his throws are high because he's trying to compensate for throwing over the dline
without getting the ball batted down.

He was having a damn good year. Saints were 5-2 until he got injured then dropped 5 straight. Only reason they won games at the end under Hill was due to a soft schedule and the defense’s inexplicable shutout of Tom Brady.

So when Oakland decides to keep Carr because there's no clear upgrade for them and he wasn't the reason they couldn't beat Cincy. Oakland also has a questionable WR room.

Rodgers has options of GB, Denver, or if Tom retires, he can weigh Tampa. Then there's always NY. Cleveland is pretty far down the list. Especially with DPJ your #1.

Watson is still in limbo. We literally have no idea where that situation turns. For the better, or for the worst.

Russ, same as Rodgers. Cleveland is way down the list. Strong line, great Run game, questionable playcalling, ends there. Why Cleveland over other better WR situations?

There's 4 guys right there that would cost heavy draft capital. We won't be selecting any WR1's in this year's draft to help them guys asap.

Which leaves me to Cousins or Baker.

Cousins, in my opinion, shouldn't cost a 1st round pick. His contract is outrageous. Cousins also doesn't outduel Mahomes or Allen in that game last night. He may not ever outduel Joey. He couldn't even beat Baker in his 7-14 loss to the Browns.

Bash Baker everyday all you want. Who's the upgrade?!?!

"For all you mediocre QB gets us in" people, who cares, mediocre QB isn't beating that beast last night. I'd rather draft a high-end QB than trade for one better than the current situation, but not good enough to beat 5 others in the conference.

Ultimately I think this is the problem. I am not in love with Baker by any means, i think he played hurt and it effected him greatly in 2021, but I dont think you have to refer to 2021 only to not be happy with Baker. But who do we get that is an upgrade. I think Cousins is the only realistic option.

I'm starting to have a thing for Malik Willis...............

Facts

Cousins is the only realistic option I see.

And you hope Cousins and Chubb can be a tag team that goes toe to toe with the giants of the AFC

This is healthy Baker Mayfield tho…. No shoulder issues… It’s this shit right here… I don’t care about that play action 45 yard seed that he throws…

When I see this shit right here I’m concerned…. He could throw 15 TD’s in a row and when I see this I’m just lost…

It’s not that he misses him ? WHO are you double pumping for ? How do you play like this with a healthy shoulder ? And without any track record of success to fall back on….

Peyton Manning and Aaron Rodgers could make this same play and I’m fine with it…. Not Baker Mayfield… He’s not earned anything yet….

This is just awful…

There's no throwing lane. 2 DL with their hands up directly in front. He had to throw it high to get it over them. Maybe he could have lofted it more and tried to drop it in, but I don't see him just throwing an inexcusably high ball for no reason at all.

You're just making things up now.
