At the end of this season, Baron Davis has the option of opting out of his contract. With the warriors recent falling out of the playoff race, age creeping up on the horizon, and the overall lack of progress of the team, it may be a realistic assessment (and personal dream) that Baron may leave Oakland and look for new pastures. With the tradeable expirings/draft pick is this a possibility for the Cavs and do you think its a good idea?

I think he will opt out especially after Nelly benched him in the second half of that last regular season game that knocked them out of the playoffs. He had to be pissed.

I'm not sure how the Cavs land B-Diddy. Their expiring contracts are most useful for players owed a lot of money over the coming seasons (like the Gasol trade. The Lakers get to pay Pau for the next few years, while Memphis only pays Kwame Brown for half a season and saves a ton of $$ in the long run). So if Davis opts out, he's no longer owed that money...

The Cavs don't have a lot of cap room, so they couldn't offer Davis the big FA payday either. If he opts out and goes for a sign-and-trade, that is an option, but I would imagine its a slim one.

(never mind the fact that Davis A) is injury prone and B) needs the ball in his hands to be effective. With LeBron dominating the ball, you run the risk of making Davis into a stocky Larry Hughes with a badass beard.)

I'd rather have Andre Miller. This guy never gets healthy. Like the Western version of Gilbert Arenas. But at least he is a good guy though.
