Ben Simmons? Is he a fit basketball wise?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If it doesn't work out, it's a bad move. If it does work out, he plays better, and his stock shoots up, he'll try to force his way out to some west coast team because that's where he really want be. We're only a temporarily acceptable destination because he wants the fuck out of Philly.

If Rich Paul has the kind of ultimate control over his clients that some folks are claiming, LBJ would never have left. So I don't believe for a moment that we should trust in Rick Paul as the guarantor of Simmons not eventually pulling the same shit here that he did in Philly

LBJ is one client with a mind of his own. World Wide Wes one of the most influential people in sports was good friends with Lebron and wanted Lebron to go to NY not Miami the first time he left.

Lebron does what he wants, nothing but his wife and kids influence him.

Then the point remains -- Rich Paul cannot be relied upon to guarantee his client's future conduct. I don't believe he'd lie about a player's current intentions, but if a player changes his mind down the road, it is ultimately the player's decision.

IMHO, the Rich Paul/King James factor is of much greater concern to CLE when applied to Garland’s upcoming free agency. If folks don’t think it coming, they have not been watching. If Darius performs like we’d all like to see, then King James may want Darius in LA next year.

Not really. Cavs would have zero incentive to trade him to the Lakers considering they wouldn't have anything to offer. He would be in the final year of his rookie contract and then hit RFA. Him nor his agent would have any power in this situation. Stars that force their way out of situations are always on their 2nd deal approaching unrestricted FA. That is when players gain more leverage.

Garland actually does not have to sign the qualifying offer; nor are potential trades limited to two specific teams.

Yes. He has 2 choices when it comes to the QO. Sign the QO and hit UFA after that season. Or sign an offer sheet with another team and risk Cavaliers matching the offer. Players really don't have power when it comes to RFA. If he doesn't sign the QO or sign an offer sheet then he is stuck in purgatory because Cavaliers would always hold his NBA rights.

Mobley being pretty good defensively makes me want to revisit the Ben Simmons talk. That deal of Sexton and our 1st is just looking too good right now. Our big man rotation is great and if we could slide Ben at the 3 and Okoro at the 2, i feel like we’d be a top 5 defense. Ben would love playing with our mobile bigs that don’t need to post up to be effective.

We could act as a 3rd team in something like this (there should be some picks moving around also?)

GS Seems like the one team that could make Simmons really work - they have plenty of shooting for Simmons to work, and Curry would benefit from not always having to initiate plays. They are too smart of a team to not be able to take advantage of what Simmons brings.

Wiggins seems to have a generic skillset that works in Philadelphia, and Sexton brings a scoring flash to the team.

Moses Moody fits what we want really well at SG, and he's guaranteed for 4 years on a good contract. I'd really want Kuminga, but it was said the Cavs are not high on him.

Could also send Wiggins here and Love to Philly, or some other combination - but those are the main ingredients.

Ben Simmons was suspended from practice today and from the first game. He refused to participate in a defensive drill after Doc asked him twice. Joel Embiid says he’s not a babysitter and says he doesn’t care about “that man.”

I wouldn’t take on Ben and his contract for free. He’s malignant. I’d rather sign Jamarcus Russell. Ben is totally unprofessional and a disgrace.

This guy is beyond toxic.

This is just a Guess but I think the only place he could go to and want to play great basketball and not cause any problems is the Clippers. they have the coach and his home is in California .

no chance he is interested in being here other than to get out of philly and no point in trading for him either because he will soon be out on his ass when Morey refuses to move him for scraps anyway

Only issue is GS LOVES Wiggins. Wiggins also keeps Klay from guarding the other teams best wing so keeping Wiggins seems like a no brained

Who would the Clippers trade tho? They are HIGH on Mann and lack the pieces to pull in Ben

Isn't Simmons objectively a much better defender at the 2/3?

I get the your position is what you defend concept, but you want to put Simmons at a position called "Shooting Guard"?
