I've got Seinfeld and The Office at the top. Parks and Rec is also very high on my list.

The ironic thing bout Seinfeld is that my first memories of it were being infuriated that I had to sit at the kitchen table (I refused to eat my peas) while my parents would watch it after dinner in the living room and it was god awful for 4-7 year old me.

Not that I'd put it in GOAT discussion, but I'm surprised 2 and a Half Men wasn't mentioned anywhere.

I think alot of Chuck Lorre shows are hate it or love it. The characters are so specific that they can be very annoying to people. I know people who hate two and a half men. Same goes for other Chuck Lorre shows like Mike and Molly, Mom, Darma and Greg, and Grace under Fire. All Chuck Lorre shows seem almost repeative in the nature of what they go back to with jokes and storylines. Characters seem to be boiled down to one sentence descriptions that they never defer from.

Blackadder seasons 2-4

All In the Family and Cheers for me

If we are talking FUNNIEST show, it's hard to leave out Family Guy and Southpark. Both shows are in a whole different world than those guys in terms of funny.

This may shock a lot of you....but I have never seen an episode of the Simpsons. I watched bits and pieces, but it never really held my attention or was that funny to me.

I honestly don't know how that's even fucking possible. When I grew up, Simpsons was on TV like every night for fucking hours thanks to syndication.

We're not talking funniest, though, we're talking best. Both those shows had some really great highs (South Park more so than Family Guy imo), but both have had some godawful low points as well.

Hard for me to anoint a show as best ever when it's had some absolutely terrible episodes and even seasons for both shows.

Like, Scott Tenorman Must Die is one of my favorite episodes of any sitcom ever, but South Park has just had a lot of shitty episodes and seasons and really just tries way too hard to be edgy a lot of the time, especially in recent seasons. Same with Family Guy, which was great in the early seasons but now tries way too fucking hard. Both shows often look like they're trying more to offend everyone than simply be funny, and I find that annoying.

If I could watch any one sitcom for the rest of my life, it would be a toss-up between Seinfeld, The Simpsons, and The Office. I think The Simpsons would win even though I stopped watching the later seasons.

With almost 30 seasons it's hard not to choose The Simpsons.

South Park would be up there, too.

I think South Park gets stronger as it ages whereas The Simpsons kinda gets boring.

"Jewish name ain't supposed to have 'ham' in it."

That whole clip is great. Perfect example of everything that made that show so wonderful. Really tough to be both edgy and heartfelt.

Both Carroll O'Connor and Jean Stapleton were beyond perfect in those roles.
