I'm not sure Kidd keeps LeBron here. If we get him, I feel he'll be gone when his contract is up anyways. We will not lock him up with an extension when we have LeBron to take care of first. Matter of fact, it could bring some tension between the front office and LeBron.

i don't really trust players ability to separate themselves from their loyalties and feelings towards players to recognize what is the best decision/fit for the team... not even Lebron's. Kobe wanted to unload bynum and odom for kidd. That seems retarded now. Lebron clearly loves Kidd. And I'm sure he's a great teammate. But team USA was loaded with versatile scorers. They didn't need a scorer. We are not.

Bibby is the better fit in my opinion. So much so in fact, that I think I'd willingly root against LBJ getting what he wants because it seems shortsided and tied to his friendship, not the on court assets he offers our system. Kidd's creating is phenomenal, but it's is going to be hampered by Lebron constantly having the ball in his hand. We're paying for a skill which we wouldn't fully take advantage of. Bibby's skills complement us. He's great coming off screens and spotting up. Aside from defense/size, which we'd still have in Larry, sometimes Sasha, Kidd doesn't compel me to blow up our role players to collect a slew of contracts to throw NJ's way.

We have as good a chance at Lebron reupping with either guy since they're both off the books then. neither guy is guaranteed to be here. and neither will cost what they currently do if we do reup them. bibby will still probably have a lot to offer. shooters age better (like cassell) and find ways to contribute.

Man, I guess I'm gonna have to tamper with these poll results...

What's really amazing is that Kidd and Bibby would both really like to play here. The tide is turning Cav's fans....yes, top players now want to play in Cleveland.

That's great in all but do we have the GM and pieces to get them here? I don't know at this point and I'm leaning towards saying no.

My argument for Bibby is this:

What does Jason Kidd bring that Bibby does not? Both are play makers, and can push the ball up court. Both can create their own shots, both make players around them better.

The difference is that Bibby is 29 and Kidd is 35. HELLO .. McFLY. Bibby can be brought in and kept with Lebron for the prime years of a quadropeat team. Kidd is a last hurrah.

It would make sense to bring in a back up veteran point guard for cheap (ala Spurs) but it makes no sense to bring in your starting point guard at franchise prices that is 35.

Add Mike Bibby and a player that can be Goodenough, in exchange for Gooden and pieces, and we WILL win a ring this year. Look at the level of play since Lebron turned it on, and tell me otherwise. I don't care which western team the ESPN pundits want to precrown, they will not beat Lebron and crew with Bibby added. The Cavs components are dry kindling, James is napalm and Bibby is a match.

Adding Jason Kidd is fool's gold in my opinion. He is on a huge contract, 35 years old, and is not even remotly a scorrer at this point in his carreer. Lebron really needs a scoring threat more than he needs a play maker. Lebron already is a top 10 playmaker, Plus Kidd is the best rebounding point guard which is already an area of strength.

Bibby is younger, Cheaper, and a better scorer. His lesser playmaking ability and lesser rebounding ability are offset by his strengths. He is more what we need from the point guard position. Bibby provides another ball handler, a good (not great) play maker, outside shooting, and someone else the defense needs to respect. I love kidd's game, but i think Bibby is a much better piece to the puzzle which when solved equals championship

Are the 2 even realistic options? Will Danny-G shell out the cash if necessary?

This is a tough call, Bibby's youth and skill, or Kidd's experience and skill (and how much does he have left in the tank)?

Based on the fact that Bibby is younger and a better shooter Id say Bibby probably. Can you go wrong with either though. Since the contarcts have to match up at least we wouldnt be losing a large amount of money even if Kidd makes more next year. I want the team to be better. Period.

Bibby... younger, cheaper and he'd cost less in a trade. Oh, and he can shoot the basketball. I don't want to say that Kidd would be a more talented version of Eric Snow... but we've already seen the offense with an aging, overpaid PG who can't shoot. No thanks.

But do we even have a realistic chance of pulling in Bibby this season? With the lack of news about trade talks and our severe lack of trade options i really don't see this happening :(
