Penn St Strength of schedule ranks #74 out of 120 teams. Ohio States is 21.
Penn State - 8-1
Ohio State - 5-3
They've beat Akron, Toledo, Colorado, Illinois and Wisconsin. Whether the SOS is tougher or not is one thing, but don't kid yourself and tell me that Penn State "hasn't beat anybody," when Ohio State really hasn't either. Way to take what I said and just narrow it down to one point, by the way. A resume is not JUST strength of schedule, it is the body of work.
The perception from Ohio State fans and media is that Penn State may as well not even exist right now.
Times Leader Online - "Ohio State controls its own destiny in Big Ten Leaders Division"
Buckeyes 101 - "If Ohio State wins out, then they go to the championship. If Ohio State loses to Penn State and Wisconsin defeats Penn State, there will be a three way tie for first place, and the division winner will be determined by tie-breaker. In most of the likely scenarios, Ohio State goes to the championship game."
The Lantern - "Led by the ground attack and saved by one timely miracle, Ohio State virtually controls its own destiny in the Leaders division after an upset-victory over No. 12 Wisconsin."
Cleveland.com - "Ohio State's road in the Leaders Division, where the Buckeyes almost control their own destiny."
(at least CLE said "almost") - You either control your own destiny, or you don't. Ohio State doesn't. Penn State does. Ohio State needs to beat Penn State, and while I am not saying Penn State is going to win, and the Buckeyes are going to have to show up to do so. Penn State has a very comparable (in yards better) offense statistically as Ohio State, and by far one of the best defenses in the nation.
