Board & Card Games? Not Risk or Monopoly in here...

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
You replaced SCATTEGORIES?? That is a classic game to make up shit.

Ice Cream : Frozen Fat Free Friendly's Fudge Frankenberry.

6 pointer.

I like the color of your walls, btw. Very craft 2x IPA of you.

Scattergories still exists in the house, but it's downstairs with the more standard board games (Taboo, Trivial Pursuit, PIG MANIA!)

Also, you can blame/thank the wife for the walls (including orange and yellow and chalkboard in different rooms). Also also, the beer comment is super appropriate considering her career in craft beer distribution.

Cleveland Drinks was pretty fun.

Dead of Winter is probably the next game I pick up and then either Power Grid or Eldritch Horror.

My GF ordered me this game for Christmas, I'm waiting for it to ship still.

I also got a Gamebox monthly for my birthday for 3 months. I'm curious as to what the games will be. The ones they have on the site seem a little obscure (minus Love Letter).

For edricht horror, be aware of buying too long or complicated of games. If I remember correctly, it is a pretty long game. You might like such games, but, if you don't have someone who will consistently play those games with you, you will find them seldomly being used. I now buy a little bit less "involved" games now because I found that not many of my friends liked the more involved games like I did.

Anyone else play Cards Against Humanity at parties and get together's?

Going in on Eldritch Horror tonight. Not going to lie, I'm a tad intimidated by this game, there is so much going on.

If anyone has played this game and considers themselves at least proficient at it, I'd love to pick your brain. I have a couple questions in regards to Mythos cards and the actions you have to take on the round.

Please DM if you wouldn't mind answering a couple questions.

If anyone is ever in Cbus for a game/event/etc.. you should stop by Kingmakers. It's a "bar" but it has over 500 board games.

Went there a few weeks back but was absolutely hammered, so it really wasn't my scene at the time. Got everyone to leave in 20 minutes. But if I wanted to bring a handful of people out and just have a chill, few beers type of night during the week, I wouldn't mind it.

We have a place like that in Cleveland as well called Tabletop Board Game Cafe.

You pay $5 per person to come in and play boardgames all day and night. Think of it as a cover. You can get snacks, drinks, etc while your there. While none of the menu is fantastic, its just a nice little treat while you enjoy games you have never heard of. Best part is, the staff will teach your group games the entire night. We sat there one night from 6pm until close. Played 4 different games and had a blast. Its a great couples place if board games are your thing, but its also just a different place to go if you want to try something different.

My brother is pretty big into games. Pandemic is probably the most fun one I've played.

Hadn't heard of Pandemic and looked it up -- seems pretty cool. The wiki review lists "Arkham Horror" which I've played but is really complicated. It was kind of retooled by the company and released as "Eldritch Horror", which I've played and is really fun.

There's one scenario that's semi-cooperative in that the goal is to survive, which may or may not be enhanced by cooperation. My character managed to make it inside a shed and hole up on the next to last turn. My son's character tried to run in, but I slammed the door to lock him outside, figuring that the creatures would take a turn or two to munch on him, and I could escape out the back.

I made it, he didn't, but we both laughed our asses off at the imagery.

ETA: Confused my games. That was Mansions of Madness, not Eldritch Horror. Eldritch Horror is fun as well, but different.

Never heard of it, but we've got a couple we do things with sometimes and it sounds like a blast.

ETA: I mean, we're old....

Its a tough game to get through the 1st time. We actually had 6 people watch a video on how to play it one night, and returned the following Saturday and played 2 games. It was roughly 1 until 9. We had a blast.

Played it a bunch of times and like it a lot. Feel free to buzz me with any questions. Probably be ramping that game up this weekend as a matter of fact.

Have you checked our board game geek? There are some forums there where questions get answered pretty well.

Those games are expensive, but the reality is that they're generally cheaper than most nights out. I'll keep that one in mind and maybe we'll meet another couple up there.

I actually posted like 6 or 8 questions on BGG. That really helped me fill in the gaps. Should anything else arise, I'll reach out, thanks!
