Board & Card Games? Not Risk or Monopoly in here...

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
So I never really bothered with tabletop games (and so never really checked out this thread.)

But some friends of mine just got me into Twilight Imperium and I'm now hopelessly addicted.

Anyone else play it on here?

Yes. By far the best board game I've ever experienced.

It's just so hard to put aside roughly 8 hours to play it if it's your first time.

Ticket to Ride and Settlers of Catan are considered the "entry games" of modern board games.

The definitive site is boardgamegeek.com.

Nah -- hard to find consistent gaming groups. Wish I could, though. I'm up for gaming in the Cleveland area.

Yup, for sure. It's addicting and incredible and SOOOOOOOO long to play.

We played a 14 point game 2 weeks ago and it went 13 hours. We left my buddy's house as the sun was coming up :O

It's worth the time to play the game for sure, but we plan a game out weeks in advance just to get everyone free on the same day.

We've played The Resistance, which from my understanding is similar.
Similar. I like Resistance but it requires people to care a LOT. Ultimate Warewolf (free) is part luck so it keeps people in it even if they arent much of a talker.

I certainly wouldn't say TI4 is the best game I have played, but I am glad I played it, and it was enjoyable. I would also play again, but I would hope it doesn't take the 8 hours that it did.

Anyone pick up any games this year?
Apparently I picked up around ~50 games last year, not counting expansions. Looks like I am at ~14 so far this year, with almost half coming on my birthday. So my goal of getting less seems to be be working, although I am due probably like 6 kickstarters in the next 2-3 months .

Anyone played secret hitler? its brilliant

I kinda feel like it's a worse version of werewolves. I own it. It's been okay. I'm more into it than most of my friends.
I haven't pkayed it, heard it was fun.

But your sentiments about being more into than your friends is how I fall with King of Tokyo.

Fuxks wrong with risk
Eurogames are better, everyone can play for the whole game, usually most eurogames are less lucked based, dont end up hating the people you play against, and the artwork/components tend to be better too.

Fiance is obsessed with board games. Wrecking me in everything we’ve played so far. Need some militaristic alpha male shit to play with her any recs?
