That's a name nobody has mentioned...from a team that has disappointed so far this year...

Hear me out. The Wizards are paying a fair amount of luxury tax right now for a team that is 2 games from being out of the playoffs. Once Wall's mega extension kicks in in 2019, he, Beal and Porter will take up all their cap room. Literally, all of it. That isn't a Championship core and everyone knows it - and Washington themselves are probably starting to understand that.

Wall & Beal have clashed in the past. And it appears the Wizards are clashing again...

Maybe I'm crazy, but it might not be unreasonable to think they could trade Beal for the Brooklyn pick and see where they can go with that core.

I like Porter too, and Washington would probably rather trade him, but his contract is just too much to make it worth the Brooklyn pick.

I don't think I need to tell people here what Beal would do for this team offensively and defensively...

Better players than Bradley Beal have been traded for a draft pick...

UPDATE: It now appears John Wall will be out for 2 months...

You are crazy. Crowder sucks. IT is never going to be the same player. And Beal is a borderline All-Star at best.

If we think that about IT/Crowder then they go be traded, I don't really care about them.

As for Beal, he's a top 20-25 player in the league. He should be an all-star based on his production. He's a perfect fit on this team on both ends of the floor. He's still only 24 and is under contract for 3 more years. You aren't going to get much better than him in a trade for the Brooklyn pick.
 
Would love to trade for Beal, especially Beal and Porter.. Love+BKN should at least get them to pick up the phone. If we took back Gortat, or better for WAS Mahinmi's contract, I definitely think they'd consider it.
 
Would the Cavs be able to pull off George Hill, DeAndre, Beal and Porter? Don't think they'd have the money to match all those deals.

Only thing really better than a deal for Beal with the Brooklyn pick would be one for Aaron Gordon that didn't include Love.
 
I would trade for Beal in a heartbeat. He'd play well along side Isaiah Thomas

We were talking about Beal and Porter in the other thread... Love+BKN+Frye+Cedi is a decent framework (we need to send out $40M, and the Wizards would likely prefer expirings).

They'd probably want us to take one of Mahinmi or Gortat which would be another $12M in salary going out, so.. we'd likely need a third team to get $12M in expirings and potentially another first rounder. I think that'd get the Wizards to a decent spot where they could start a rebuild around Wall/Love, especially if they could unload whichever player we didn't take between Mahinmi and Gortat.

In fact, I think the Wizards would have to consider this trade.

But that wouldn't leave any expirings for Hill, but we could probably make that deal work with additional moves (like sending out Crowder for a first rounder). But I think we'd be out of options to get DeAndre unless they were willing to take back Tristan Thompson.
