Bradley Beal

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Oh God... CTown going up against Gour?

I can understand wanting Booker. The problem is he won't be available.

There's a chance Beal will be. That being said, I can see reasons why Beal would and would not help this team.

Throw my hat into the Bradley Beal-ring this offseason. Similar to what I said earlier about Lillard, if we can snag him without giving up Love, that'd be super ideal.

If that Brooklyn pick falls at 8 or 9 or whatever it's supposed to, I'd do a deal of:

Brooklyn Pick
George Hill
Cedi Osman

for

Bradley Beal

Not sure if Washington would do that, or if they could swing better offers, but that lockerroom hates everyone and I think John Wall's contract makes him hard to move (I wouldn't want him here anyways).

PG - Clarkson / Calderon (would need some FA help here for sure)
SG - Beal / Hood / Smith
SF - James / Korver
PF - Love / Green
C - Nance / Zizic / Thompson

Not great, but Beal gives us a lot of what we lost with Kyrie in terms of scoring. That PG spot is pretty rubbish and we've got little defense on that squad. If Ty Lue is our coach next year though, we could clone 7 Ben Wallaces and we'd still suck at defense, so not a big issue there I guess.

I'd prefer to keep the Brooklyn pick, and pick up a big man, and center a deal around Love for a McCollum/Beal type player.

Makes matching salaries easier, and allows us to keep Hill at the PG spot alongside two perimeter weapons.

I'm concerned that Love's value will be at an all time low after the playoffs end. He may be untradeable unless we're talking about George Hill Rodney Hood type of talent in return.

I agree with your logic, Love won't be very valuable this off-season, especially not with only a year left on his deal.

But Love for George works, sign-and-trade or straight up, doesn't matter. George diminished value as well since he's technically capable of doing whatever he wants, so Love for George does make a great deal of sense.

Yeah, I could see that. Find a guy with next to no time left and that others won't trade for (like a Kyrie situation for a player not quite that level), and offer an all-star in return. That's probably best case scenario.

I can't imagine teams' opinions will drastically change on Love based on the outcome of these playoffs. A playoffs in which he's playing with a torn thumb ligament. He's had a great last two years, and he's come up big in the playoffs before.

If you are going to have injury concerns, those concerns will have been there already based on his history.

I also believe Love’s value dips based on this. Shoulder injury 3 years ago, concussion 2 years ago, thumb this year... Appears that he injures himself every other possession or so— always reaching at something it seems..

Coupled with that he looks overmatched on the low block (regardless of the matchup,) lacks aggression, physicality and really does not appear to be a guy you can ultimately count on offensively and we know he’s pretty useless as a defender in most spots..

Obviously will give you a good effort on the boards, can stretch the floor, and by all accounts is a good locker room guy (but no leader)

He does seem to be the kind of teammate you'd want with Russ, since he's not going to make any problems.

Former teammates at UCLA. 4th/5th pick respectively in the same draft.

If Lue is our coach next season... I don't think it'll matter who we acquire. The results will be the same. He needs to go before we start working on the roster [preferably with the new coach already signed].

I think this is mostly correct though I think Portland would have to think a bit harder if the Cavs offered Love and Clarkson for CJ and were willing to take Myers Leonard's contract.

Love is local to the area which may make it easier to part with CJ, it prevents them from overpaying Nurkic to keep a competent big while Clarkson can start at the 2 filling some of CJ's role. This also dumps Leonard's money which is one of their less attractive contracts (Leonard is 37% from 3 over his career in limited time, might just need a change of scenery? ).

With Love's contract over in 2020 (don't think he's opting out of $25mil at 31) they'd have close to $55 million in space that summer with Turner and Harkless contracts over also.

Not Cavs related, but a Boogie/Beal swap makes a lot of sense for New Orleans and Washington
