Brady & Patriots are cheaters

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Also this story is straight comical. They brought no new info to the table just repeated dumb stuff that was slanted. And on that nonsense that the Pats sent lower level staff to steal play books. I ask this who the hell would leave there play calls laying in the boating locker room.

I thought the article was pretty fair actually. They make it clear that most of the people they talked to had no hard evidence and were partially jealous of the Pats' success. But it also makes clear that most of the league thinks they cheat, and in some cases knew that they cheated and would put dummy play sheets out for their people to steal.

The big thing I took away from the article was how there is a "go along to get along" attitude with a lot of people in the league that is content with everything not necessarily being on the up and up as long as everyone gets paid.

We know the Patriots have cheated. I don't think that's a newsflash. Just sounds like a desperate attempt to pour more gasoline on the fire.

The NFL should just let it go. 8 years ago. And we get to rehash this shit again? Who cares. Belichick is a fucking snake, wow, real shocker there.

Seriously, I'm hardly one to cry foul on something that makes Belichick look bad, too. I am not exactly found of him or the Patriots. I don't think they're this innocent never done wrongly type of organization.

I just really don't give a shit about something that happen 8 years ago. This still makes the NFL look absolutely bad.

It would be the opposite bro.... Spyware wasn't illigal it was Goodell trying to flex his muscle. Deflategate wouldn't have happened at all that's a guarantee.

It is against the NFL rules to videotape other teams' hand signals. No one said it was against the law, but that's irrelevant here anyway.

It's also against the rules to play with footballs that are not inflated to the proper psi. There is also definitive proof that the Patriots underinflated the footballs on purpose, meaning they knowingly broke the rules. That is the definition of cheating. Brady got his suspension reversed because, while it's quite obvious he knew and likely requested it, the evidence against him was circumstantial.

You clearly have no idea what you're talking about.

You mean like suspending our GM four games for sending text messages?

The difference is Browns fans really didn't give a shit, or at least none that I know did. Personally, I thought the punishment for Farmer was fine. It's probably a bit excessive since the texts gave no competitive advantage, but whatever. We can live without a GM for four games. We've basically done it for like fifteen years now.

Yeah.... Brady being suspended for four games, and our general manager suspended for four games isn't exactly the same thing.

Not to mention the first round pick, and huge fine they got (okay the fine means nothing to an organization like them).

The Falcons lose just a 5th round pick, and their penalty was A LOT more severe than anything the Patriots allegedly did, that they failed to even prove.

Not to mention, Rich McKay is now back on the NFL competition committee. Which is outrageous. But no one cares....

They should because that's how incompetent the league is now. I don't even care about the NFL anymore. A great sport has become a mockery. I'll watch the Browns and not watch any other of the games this year. I don't even have the interest to do so like I used to.

With the excessive flags, and change of rules. I can't believe people still find this sport so watchable. I find myself bored by the third quarter majority of the time now.

That's the thing, though...they did prove the Patriots did it, and did it knowingly. They just couldn't prove Brady was involved to the point that the suspension would be upheld.

Where's the evidence that they deflated balls? In court they admitted to not having direct evidence. And video tapping hand signals wasn't against the rules at the time. Goodell sent out a memo urging teams not to do it and BB said FU I'm doing it till it becomes illiagel How that cheating if it isn't against the rules.

I think the most damning thing in all of this, and this isn't to excuse Belicheck, was how the league stopped Spygate because of the Congressional investigation and Goodell and the NFL did not want league officials to have to testify before Congress. If there was a 'WTF' in all of this rehash, that was it. If Spygate was really that serious, yet the league felt the testimony would be far more harmful to the league? Wow. Think about that- admitting to how the league operates and potentially losing its tax exempt status or antitrust exemption would be far more damaging than a team rampantly cheating.

Literally, the first excerpt from the ESPN article....

His bosses were furious. Roger Goodell knew it. So on April 1, 2008, the NFL commissioner convened an emergency session of the league's spring meeting at The Breakers hotel in Palm Beach, Florida. Attendance was limited to each team's owner and head coach. A palpable anger and frustration had rumbled inside club front offices since the opening Sunday of the 2007 season. During the first half of the New England Patriots' game against the New York Jets at Giants Stadium, a 26-year-old Patriots video assistant named Matt Estrella had been caught on the sideline, illegally videotaping Jets coaches' defensive signals, beginning the scandal known as Spygate.

Behind closed doors, Goodell addressed what he called "the elephant in the room" and, according to sources at the meeting, turned over the floor to Robert Kraft. Then 66, the billionaire Patriots owner stood and apologized for the damage his team had done to the league and the public's confidence in pro football. Kraft talked about the deep respect he had for his 31 fellow owners and their shared interest in protecting the NFL's shield. Witnesses would later say Kraft's remarks were heartfelt, his demeanor chastened. For a moment, he seemed to well up.

Then the Patriots' coach, Bill Belichick, the cheating program's mastermind, spoke. He said he had merely misinterpreted a league rule, explaining that he thought it was legal to videotape opposing teams' signals as long as the material wasn't used in real time. Few in the room bought it. Belichick said he had made a mistake -- "my mistake."

I mean, if it's legal, why hide it?

Patriots staffers would dress like media members, covering team logos on their clothing or turning sweatshirts inside out to hide their team gear. They would also wear badges, credentials marked for Patriots TV or Kraft Productions. That trick came in handy when the league, in cooperation with the Jets, set up a sting to catch the Patriots in the act.

They had numerous text messages from Patriots staffers referencing intentionally deflating footballs to the psi that Tom Brady preferred.

You're right that the evidence against Brady was circumstantial at best, which is why his suspension was overturned. However, he also destroyed his cellphone, so take that for what it's worth.

And yes, videotaping hand signals was always illegal. Please know what you're talking about if you're going to try to debate about it.

The only thing ever heard about Brady and psi is he like it at 12.5 the very minimum. And on the phone I see you fell for the nfl moronic trick. Why would it matter what he did with the phone
1. They weren't getting his phone point blank. His lawyer and the NFLPA wouldn't let that happen.
2. Nfl isn't legally able to get his phone
3. Wells told Brady they don't need his phone.

Video taping was legal John Madden already said they did it

No, it wasn't. You're wrong. No idea why you're too hard-headed to admit it, but you're wrong. Literally the only reason Spygate even exists is because what Belichick was doing was fucking against the rules of the NFL.

Here's a quote from the ESPN article:
"Walsh later told investigators that, at the time, he didn't know the NFL game operations manual forbade taping signals."

The events referenced in that quote took place in 2000, well before Spygate. Taping signals was always illegal.

Also, here's the quote he keeps referring to where the NFL sent out a memo about taping hand signals:

The allegations against the Patriots prompted NFL executive vice president of football operations Ray Anderson to send a letter to all 32 team owners, general managers and head coaches on Sept. 6, 2006, reminding them that "videotaping of any type, including but not limited to taping of an opponent's offensive or defensive signals, is prohibited from the sidelines."

The key word, which I bolded, is reminding. It says reminding because taping hand signals was always illegal, but the Patriots' cheating caused the NFL to send out a memo reminding everyone of that fact.

You're right that the evidence against Brady was circumstantial at best, which is why his suspension was overturned.

Just FYI, the judge did not find Brady innocent. That wasn't what he was ruling on. He simply ruled that the NFL overstepped their bounds in giving him a 4 game suspension, i.e. it was too harsh based on the CBA, and since all he could do is rule whether it was legal or not he ended up getting off completely and not with some sort of reduced sentence.

That does not, however, mean that Tom Brady or any staff member didn't do anything to the balls. That is partially why it's ludicrous that the Pats are asking for those staff members to be reinstated today like nothing happened, even though the texts those two idiots provided, including one of them specifically saying he did it, are some of the hardest evidence they found of wrongdoing.

TL;DR The Pats are still guilty as fuck even if Tom gets to play this weekend.

I advice people to go watch Do Your Job.

1. It's a crime the nfl blow up deflate gate that BB had to take 3 days off from work to tend to that BS.

2. Harbough is a cry baby who complains on every play. It was comical them showing his press conference saying no team has ever done the in eligible stuff. When the titans did it earlier.

3. I'm suprised the Pats arnt accused of knowing the Seattle call with the Butler pick. Just watch that segment alone and you notice the greatness of BB
