Braxton Miller Out For Season?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
got drunk and bet my osu friemd $100.00 that OSU would not make the playoffs two nights ago...I am a prophet

I still think our offense operated most efficiently with Guiton last year. I think we were less predictable and the entire playbook opened up where Herman and Meyer really spread the ball around. I do think Meyer/Herman really fall in love with Braxton's legs, which is an obvious weapon, but at the same time they can lose focus on other playmakers and being more versatile.

If JT is even average, our offense should not have any issues putting points on the board. A loss of Braxton actually opens up more opportunities for Dontre, Jalin, Curtis Samuel, while you still have lots of depth at Tailback in Elliott, Rod Smith, and Brionte Dunn. And if the run game is effective at all, we may have the best TE duo in the country.

In a weird way I may even be more excited for this season. I fully understand what losing Braxton does to our title hopes, but we also know what his limitations are and he hadn't been able to even work on those shortcomings this off-season. I just really like the idea of a distributor asked to get the ball into his playmakers hands quickly with the personnel currently on this roster. There are home-run threats all over the field for OSU...I think JT will do a great job effectively distributing the ball. Not nearly as athletic as Braxton, but better leadership qualities and really a heady kid. I think he has enough tools to make this offense really potent.

I still hate Navy in week 1. Even with Braxton... That game has trap all over it.

Hurt his shoulder throwing a pass? Damn

If Braxton's intent was to run all season, this was bound to happen anyways.. I feel bad for him, but it's the price of the way he plays the game.

JT Barrett came in pretty highly recruited out of Texas. He was injured coming in as a recruit, but is in a similar mold as Brax. Probably won't yield an exciting post-season this year, but he's not a schlub. Urb wanted JT and got him.

If Barrett can distribute and get better as the season wears on, anything can happen in a weak B1G.

With that said, I'm absolutely devastated for Braxton. No question this team was playoff caliber with him at the helm, and it appears as though he'll have a pretty good core of weapons at the wide receiver position.

Something which can only help Barrett progress quickly.

There aren't a ton of tough games this season, so I'll reserve judgement.

Yes it hurts to potentially lose Braxton (key is potentials, we know nothing yet) but this season was not going to be won/loss with Braxton it is going to be won/loss with the defense. Does it make it hard with a freshman QB, hell yeah, but let me ask you this, who won the Heisman and the NC last year, oh that's right a freshman QB. It is sort of comical the way people are jumping of the ledge with news that Braxton got hurt.

IMO we have 3 tough games, @ MSU, who is on a bye before us, @ PSU who is on a bye before us, and of-course Michigan at home. The only nice part of the schedule is we have a bye in week 4 and then another bye in week 7. This will give the staff plenty of practice time before we get into the meat of our schedule. There is no way we should not be 6-0 going into the PSU game. At that point if Miller is not back, Barret will have 6 games under his belt and 8 weeks of practice.

Think he can easily go 8-0 until that tough game @Michigan State.

Defensive line will keep us in games and he does have a good amount of weapons to ease him in until he gets his confidence up. Hopefully after a VTech win, he will be good to go.

I'm depressed. First year at OSU and the star QB is out for the year. I carry a jinx.
