Braxton Miller Out For Season?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Again, there is still a lot to look forward too. The defense will be significantly better and they still have a ton of weapons on offense.

I still think they're a favorite in every game they play with exception to MSU. I think people are significantly underestimating how effective our offense can still be. They just need JT to be a distributor and let his weapons use their athletic ability. By all accounts, the offensive line has gelled quickly and is having a very good pre-season. I think the Buckeyes still field a very good team that competes for the Big 10.

Meh. He's made a couple mistakes (lack of carries for Hyde vs MSU, playing a crippled Braxton instead of KG vs Clemson) but to say he's to blame for OSU not having won anything is a bit of a reach, imo.

I didn't say that though, lol.

I love Meyer as a coach and am glad he's here. I'm saying his tenure has not gone anything like expected assuming this is a down season (most likely). I really don't care about the 24-0 against shit competition, to be honest. That does not excite me. This is Ohio State, we're about big time wins and those were very few and far between during that 24-0 stretch and the team pooped themselves when they finally had a chance to show people they were legit. Twice.

I know he's under contract for another 4 years (counting this one) and I hope he's here after that, too. I want the Meyer Era to be one I remember fondly, not one of missed opportunity.

Still waiting to see what the program looks like with just his recruits and no Tressel leftovers before I judge.

Oh I agree. We might even be able to sneak into the playoff. Probably not, but the talent on the roster alone (compared to the opponents on our schedule) gives us a good chance every game. But not a true elite team.

How did a Braxton Miller shoulder injury turn into a discussion of Urban Meyer's OSU legacy?

How does one have anything to do with the other? Is this Urban's fault?

EDIT: Btw go Bearcats, gonna be tappin some Buckeye ass in the 'shoe this year.

I hear ya. I thought we'd have more accomplished by now as well. To be fair, he did everything he could have done in 2012.

The Urban era (should) still have a long way to go. The Braxton era, however, is looking like a bust when it really comes down to it. 0 conference titles, 0 bowl wins. Yikes.

I was not part of that clown group you're calling "the majority."

This sub has like 5 posters. Oasis, RealKingofCleve and Pyro drove that clown bus so I am right on a technicality. Mix in facebook and cleveland.com's reactions and even more so.

He shouldn't have played against Clemson and it sounds like Miller wasn't ready for practice. Won't blame Urban but KG should have been playing against Clemson.

Oh I'm not saying you were wrong (at least for RCF). There was plenty of ridiculous statements made during/after the Orange Bowl. Moronic statements.

I'm pretty sure since there is usually like one active thread in this forum at a time, we can discuss whatever the fuck we want pertaining to OSU football. Just sayin.

We'll know more on the injury tomorrow.

To me, this is way more about Braxton's legacy than it is about Urban's. At the end of the day, whether fair or not, I remember Troy and Terrelle for their conference championships and bowl wins. I will remember Braxton for the same (or lack thereof). His legacy, to me, for now, is a zero.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a Braxton fan, as you can see from my previous statements in this thread. But if we don't at least win the Big 10 and/or make the playoff this year, that is what I'll remember him for. Never winning anything of relevance.

Ever since Troy won the Heisman, senior seasons for QBs have not been good.

Boeckman was benched after 3 games.
Pryor left early to avoid suspension.
Miller hurt.

At least we can always put in super sub Kenny Guit..... wait a minute :chuckles:

Jokes aside this is a kick in the gut, hoping to see what we can do with Barrett if Braxton is really done for the year.

I like Barrett, he was great in the Spring game (much better than Jones) but I can't sit here and think about him right now. All I can think about is this was our year and it is gone if Miller is hurt. Fuck. So we'll go 11-1, whooping on Big 10 bums, then lose the bowl game again, best case scenario. Oh boy.

11 1 sounds very optimistic lol
