Dont you know? Its not arms dealers that are bad, we have plenty, its only evil when they sell guns to our enemies. But selling to us or our allies is constitutional and G-d's work.
Actually selling to enemies would be constitutional as well, just pretty stupid, especially if we’re selling to our enemies first half of 1940s.

I don't want Americans in foreign prisons for Non-violent crimes. I don't want them in American prisons for non-violent crimes. We could have their punishments played out in ways to improve the community, but instead it is just enormous cost to us. Waste of time, waste of talent.
Do you think our leaders should do the "Merchant of Death" prisoner swap that many think this is all about and what it will take?

I feel zero sympathy for people who go into other countries and break their laws. I pretty much feel the same about our citizens in this country and our laws. Doesn't mean I agree with the laws, just means their isn't shit you can do about other countries laws..... At least in our country we can impact the change. Sucks for her, but she knew better. I wouldnt feel any different if it was Lebron or Tom Brady locked up in Russia.

The amount of citizens in this thread that would comply with authorities no matter what is chilling to me.

Government is just looking out for you.

I back the blue and tell every cop walking the street that I'm thankful for their service.

As a Black woman who grew up in America, she should have a better understanding of how authoritarian countries use laws selectively/politically to target their enemies and use them as chips to score political points.

96% of one party in this country just voted no on codifying the legality of contraceptives, perhaps there are too many people calling other countries "authoritarian," when America's largely just an extension of the same fascist political "laws" countries like Russia have.

Griner is an innocent person, a good person, to see her called a criminal because of the fervent support of fascism is staggeringly bad, but explains so much about this country.

People have lived so long within these absurdities, they become normalized.

In no way did I say that or imply that.

0 sympathy mean something I am not familiar with?

Sounds like you agree with laws no matter what. Maybe you should make yourself more clear.

Its Russia,. not USA, she has no choice but to comply with authorites. All of those Constitutional rights Americans have only apply when you are in America.

People are acting like America has any standing here, its not out country, and we really dont get along with Russia. What are we supposed to do, go to war with Russia because she plead guilty to a law Russia has? I feel bad for her, she deserves zero jail time for it, but this is on Russia, all we can do is negotiate, she is luck she is a famous athlete, there are plenty of citizens locked up abroad on cruel and unusual punishments not getting shit done for them.

What you just said is very different from "I have 0 sympathy" or "she deserves what she gets for being an idiot"

I would feel bad for her if she was arrested for some bullshit espionage charge in Russia that we all knew was bullshit. We have Americans locked up over there for stuff like that. But she actually had weed on her. Marijuana doesn’t warrant a 10 year prison sentence, but there’s only so much that can be done when you violate another country’s laws. I don’t agree with giving her priority because she’s a basketball player when other prisoners have been there longer.
