She made her thoughts clear on this country. She can stay. She should be executed

how many americans are prisoners in russia today?I would feel bad for her if she was arrested for some bullshit espionage charge in Russia that we all knew was bullshit. We have Americans locked up over there for stuff like that. But she actually had weed on her. Marijuana doesn’t warrant a 10 year prison sentence, but there’s only so much that can be done when you violate another country’s laws. I don’t agree with giving her priority because she’s a basketball player when other prisoners have been there longer.
Jesus
They want their dealer free
What’s not fair??Its not fair, but it is the law of Russia
Keep in mind people have spent 10 years in American jail for non selling weed offenses. Sure it took multiple offenses, but still.
Absolutely. It's wild to hear people here talk about how strict Russia is when the US will lock you up for a decade over a drug offense. Getting better, regarding weed, but it wasn't long ago where in many states you could get years for a gram of weed. In 18 states, by the letter of the law, you can still go to jail for weed. And I'm sure some people do.Its not fair, but it is the law of Russia

Also true. It's cruel punishment9 years for 2 vape carts is cruel and unusual, regardless of which part of the world it’s occurring IMO. I also will not pretend that anything about the Russian legal system is fair…and find Americans showing deference to Russian law pretty disturbing.
I feel awful for her…and being a black lesbian American in a Russian prison is not a fate I would wish on anyone. I hope she survives.

It was also smuggling. I just don’t get why she didn’t try and get it in Russia.9 years for 2 vape carts is cruel and unusual, regardless of which part of the world it’s occurring IMO. Of course, you have to be careful traveling, especially when there is political tension. Many places you have more rights than in the US - others you have less.I think many of our points is while its not fair by the standards we are used to, the fact that so many act like America can do anything beyond the negotiating they are doing is ridiculous. Russia is a sovereign country, we have no control over their laws, just or not. What people are saying is that if it wasnt for the fact that Griner is a famous American athlete, we would know nothing about the case. The other prisoner that we are trying to free has been in the jail longer and only know of him because Brittney made a mistake.
Basically when traveling abroad, be careful, your American rights dont follow you.

I have a drone - which I can fly here most places. But I have to carefully determine if I am allowed to even enter a country with my drone. Some will confiscate. Some won't, but won't let you fly. Some you need registration.
As for drugs. Just leave that shit @ home. I enjoy weed gummies from time to time, and they are legal in NJ, but I don't mess around like that lol. The US, because of the high number of legal states, is actually ahead of the global curve on weed legalization, surprisingly.
It's one of my favorites too. I think I re-watched it one day back in like 2010 when I left whatever forum I was on to join here lol and for whatever reason I was like yeah this is gonna be my avatarIs your avatar from Fear of a Black Hat? One of my all time favorite movies, how obscure, lol
Bologna. She said she inadvertently packed them and didn’t mean to break the law.She says she forgot it was in there. If you need weed for any type of pain management or mental management, then you should play in Russia, maybe the 1 mill was the best offer, but other Euro countries pay female basketball players well too, she should of played there.
It sucks for her, it doesnt mean she deserves it, but its out of America's control.
I wonder if people would feel the same if it was Ray Rice and not Brittney Griner, I know this wont be popular, but both are athletes who served suspensions for domestic violence against a female. Its interesting the amount of double standards out there.
