That’s like asking what you should do if your dick falls off. I suppose it could happen, but I wouldn’t waste energy worrying about it, or on how to deal with the consequences.

Woods was a well-regarded coach when he came here a year ago. He came to a defense that had serious holes on it. Many of those holes went unfilled because the priority in FA/draft that offseason was the offense (Hooper, Conklin, Wills, etc.). Some of the players who were brought in on defense never played a down (Delpit, Billings, could include Greedy here though he was already on the roster).

Then toss in a global pandemic that took away almost all opportunity to properly install his system. Fewer/no practice reps, offseason camps, etc.

Apparently you’re expecting a coach who is so brilliant, he can succeed from day one despite all those obstacles?
Seriously though...

What would you do?

(and don’t say fuck my mom bc I have proof she likes guys with dicks)

Just cause my dick falls off doesn't mean I don't still have it. Your mom loves severed penises.

This. Takitaki brings some size, run defense, and physicality that the group is missing. Wilson brings bad pass coverage and some athleticism?

The likeliest way I see Mack Wilson making this team is if Tony Fields doesn't, and I doubt that happens.

The other way I could see is if we just cut Takitaki instead. That's probably Mack's best route to a roster spot.

All my Mack love aside, i think its almost as likely we cut BOTH Mack and Taki squared as Mack even making the team.

I look at our LB's, and Berry did a sneaky job of improving them too. He didnt focus on them, but somehow Walker and JOK will get most of the snaps with Smith and Phillips getting snaps too. It will be a huge improvement and sort of under the radar.

Edit: Because of age, it was brought to my attention that Taki squared might make the team and Smith is the one possibly cut along with Mack.

Signing Walker away from Indy may be under the radar to casual fans, but it was a pretty loud move to the NFL.

Moving up to get JOK is as loud as it gets. Nothing under the radar there, and then we made sure people heard us by taking "poor man's JOK" Tony Fields later in the draft.

I just don't see Smith making the team over Takitaki.

2Tak was a 2019 3rd rounder and showed improvement last year. You don't really walk away from that for a guy who will be 32 and maxed out his potential years ago. Not to mention we brought in Walker to play that "vet/mentor" leadership role. I think we roll into into 2021 with Walker, JOK, 2Tak, Phillips, and Fields as our LBs.

I think the counterpoint to that argument is that the current regime did not draft Taki, but now twice has signed Smith as a FA. Given that Walker, Jacob and JOK are all pretty young, I don't think the current regime cares about Takis age.

My guess is they'd keep Smith of Taki, if it came to that.

Not to count any chickens before they're hatched, but the defensive potential we have here is really exciting. It's always fun watching a dangerous offense, but having a suffocating defense is such a big fuck you to the other team. You can just feel the energy sapping away from the opponent after another big stop.

I agree. We are very young, but have the look on paper of a good defense. With our offense even a top 15 defense can be hard on opponents.

I still have some worries on us stopping the run, with our DL and LBs. But I think our pass defense can be elite, we have legit CB’s and a Dline that can get to the QB. If we can bring Richardson back on the DL I will feel great about the team.

This is big news for us. It means the cap will go up even more next year. So we might not have to let any key guys go.

It sucks because i dont think you can record the game on Amazon can you?

I don’t think you will have to. I am sure it will be available on demand. The only issue I see is if they make you watch ads if you watch a game on demand. But with you having to be a Prime member to watch anyways you probably won’t have to.

Local broadcasts will still carry your home team if you are in market, but yea it looks like you either have to be a Prime member or stream.

Clowney is much better against the run than against the pass, and in particular sets the edge very well. That should make for some improvement in the run defense at least at that position.
