I'm almost certain the Browns are going to get cheap veteran help at the CB position.

There are just too many good players out there, with way more to come.
This free agency period is going to be the craziest one we've ever seen.

Even just from the perspective of the Saints, I think it would already have that title. Then throw the COVID and the cap decreasing on top of it? We'll get a good chance to evaluate Berry and his team.

PRAISE JEEBUS!

edit: im guessing 20 million signing bonus, 10 million this year, and 10 million next year. Basically Ben retires after this year, and still gets 30 of his 40 owed to him.
That would only save Pitt ~10mil this year. I bet his cap number this year is closer to 20mil if I had to guess.

They split the difference.

Final numbers are in: total cap hit this year is 25.9 million, with a 10.3 million cap hit next year.

edit: save a little over 15 million in their cap this year, but obviously a the detriment of pushing 10 million into next year

Is Trufant still good? Haven’t heard the name in awhile.

Would be a nice signing

Probably too rich for us even with the reduced cap, but Greedy, Ward and Trufant would be sick.

Now we just need a couple of safeties to go with Harrison the only NFL level safety on our roster.

Also buried in the article:

The Browns have said they’re counting on Williams to start opposite Ward again this season, and share the defensive backfield again with Delpit, who’s making great strides in his comeback from the Achilles surgery.
