While this may be the first time many of us have seen this, let’s try to remember that this is in the past for Malik, the officer, and whoever was in the store that day.
He’s honestly lucky he’s alive after grabbing the cops gun. Hopefully he grew and learned from that incident and can come back not only to football but as a better person

This is the “look at Kareem Hunt” signing. Came here, played well, straightened out. What do you want your story to be?

Malik is being giving a chance on a legit playoff team that needs someone of his position to step up and start. He cannot have a better opportunity honestly....

I believe he had the taser, not a gun. Cop #1 had just used the taser on him.

This is borderline irresponsible- prison aside, McDowell never suited up because of the concussion he got from the ATV accident. Recovered or not, he shouldn't be headed back out onto a field to potentially suffer another one. Hope it's not a CC doc that clears him to at again.

Is the concussion documented? And if so, was it his first or considered worse than any of the multitude of concussions hundreds of guys playing in the NFL currently have had?

Lastly, do we know for certain that if he had a confusion after the accident it truly affected his behavior or is it possible that the concussion story was one used by his loved ones and people close to him that were trying to cover for him and buy him time to get his shit together, as loved ones often do for someone they care about who is making bad destructive choices

It’s total speculation but so is anything else that any of us on this board post about Malik McDowells medical history and psychological history,

Berry...

:kingofhill:

At least at the moment he is by a lot of Browns fans... Let's just trust him since Malik wouldn't have been signed regardless of talent unless the FO felt he could be a good citizen and has grown up...

I don't have a problem with this conceptually. We're got a strong locker room and great coaching staff. The guy spent time in jail so there isn't a question of him having "gotten away" with anything.

Can always cut him if he starts going off the rails, but nothing wrong with giving the man a chance.

I'm also behind this move.

I imagine he doesn't even have a roster spot at the moment--he's going to have to earn that spot on the 53 from a talent perspective in addition to earning his opportunity to stay with the organization from a behavior/personality perspective.

It seems like a very low-risk move, and even if it doesn't work out, it sure seems like you're purchasing good will in the future by showing that your organization is willing to work with players in this manner.

I must admit I was unimpressed by his hand placement when he tried to shed that second cop block.
I'm gonna need a supervisor to verify that. I'm gonna need a supervisor. Can l talk to a supervisor?

Our videos are horrible, not sure what Berry is doing. You take the video of Baker getting caught from behind by a cop, now we take this guy that can shed a cop's block? I mean is Berry not watching any of the this video? (i know Berry didnt pick Baker, who cares its a joke, lol)
