Browns @ COLTS (Week 3)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
We lossed, but this was an overall solid effort..

I don't know what is up with the Colts Offense ? But Peyton not throwing a TD against out Defense was an accomplishment :chuckles:

Dilfer is just what a team like the Young Browns need, he isn't that great, but he is not making mistakes.. You don't turn it over, and you give yourself a chance to win the game. Which the browns did..

In Fact, they were one dropped Bryant TD and a Frisman penalty away from the win..

We Lossed, but I liked what I saw.. We had a couple chances.

Exactly had Fris actually hit that guy it would have been a penalty but he brushed against him and did a spin move hardly affecting the guy at all, seriously if a punt return goes more then 20 yards on a return they automatically throw a flag. The play where Dilfer got hit like 3 seconds after the release should have been called, that was blatant the ball had already been caught or incomplete and then he went down. Overall I like the 3-4 scheme, but we don't have the personell to run it. We need another big time line backer to fill out the lb corps, and a nice pass rushing DE. An Erasmus James or Demarcus Ware would have been nice in this years draft..we need another year or 2 before we can contend.

mac did you not see all the tackles rube broke just to get back to the line of scrimmage, espically on the 3rd down play. time after time he was make what would have been a bad run into a sub-par run.

im not saying hes a stud like LT, but he played like a stud today. if you cant see that then you never will.

you guys are wrong by calling out carthon, even though i didnt like how the plays were called at the end. peyton didnt throw for a td and you want him fired. thats idiotic. even without the pressure peyton didnt go off on us. we should be praising carthon, not bashing him.

You cant blame Bryant for that drop...that is a VERY hard catch to make. On top of it, it was very good D. Sanders got his hand in and stripped it away.

Peyton not throwing a TD against us is nothing new, this is the second or third time that has happened in the last four years. It was 9-6 two years ago, so we always play well against the Colts.

And much props to Dilfer, he was getting blasted but still did a helluva job in the pocket today.

A Mac aka The Truth said:
The only thing I ask of people is to be honest. And no matter what you think about me, everything i say I feel is honest.

How can youhonestly say he is a stud?

What did he do? Im the biggest Browns fan in the world, or atleast try to be, but I am not a homer about it.

I dont care who the RB is, even though I went on about me wanting Green, at the end of the day I want to win regardless of who is in there. I want Rube to run for 2,000 yards, because if did odds are, we will win.

But what did he do today to say he is a stud? He had that bad ass 22 yard run, but other than that, what would lead you on to believe he is a stud?

He ran for a 3.5 YPC clip, that's not a stud. He ran for 78 yards, that's not stud like.

If he is a stud with that stat line, then every RB in the NFL is a stud, because every starter has ran for that atleast once.

He had a good game, I am not bashing Rube at all, so I dont want to hear any shit about me bashing Rube because Im not. He had a good game, but to say he is a stud because of his game blows my mind on how that is possible.

I wish we had better run blocking, but Rube did good today. Hit the holes and ran hard, too bad he isnt fast because if he would be a stud if he had some speed. He just cant turn his four yarders into 7 to 8 yards, which would make a huge difference.

But again, Im just questioning your rational and not Ruben.
I'm not going to speak for CALI as I wouldn't call RUBE a stud.. (Maybe tongue n cheek, just to mess with MAC, but not seriously)

However, I will stand by my statement since our First pre season game.. RUBE DROUGHNS is the best BACK on this team.. There is no question about that now.. I knew it then and it has been confirmed now.

None of them are true pro bowlers, But RUBE is the best of the 3.

MAC you can't put all your eggs in the YPC..

What he did do was move the chains on 3rd and 1.. I like how he does the Priest Holmes jump OVER THE PILE for the first down..

He runs down hill and but he does have a power style... I just wish he was quicker as well.

I am not disputing he is the better back. He has done OK in the starting job. I am not comfortable with either of them as the feature back though..

He did have some nice conversions..but he also got stuffed twice.

But, we lost...and it wasnt his fault. So I have nothing to complain about with him. Our D and the refs lost this one.

You can attribute the stuffs to there being guys in the backfield just as you stated with Green's carry getting blown up at the line..

But you guys dont, thats the problem, lol..

but again, even in a loss. We are a young team, gotta look at the positives...

Braylon played good, Bryant played good (those taunting penalties are garbage).

Dilfer looked real good (might be a probowler folks...weve only had one, my fav Brown since we came back, Jamir Miller)..

Cutt had a helluva return.

That bullshnit illegal block in the back penalty...and all braylon and bryant did were stare the guys down bryant flipped him the ball as to say here ya go give it to the ref i got a huddle to get to..must be nice to have the refs help ya out..

It is kinda hard to win a game when the refs already decided that you wouldn't before the game.

I can't get too down after this game. It was a hell of an effort by the Browns and they were in it until the end.

I normally don't think officiating plays a major factor in football games but the refs today were terrible. The call on Jackson on the punt return was questionable. The taunting penalties were worse. There's trash talk after every play. I don't see how what Bryant and Edwards did was worse than Colts LB Cato June yelling and pointing to the Browns after a big tackle or Freeney dancing and posing after a sack.

There was also the bad interference call on McCutcheon that kept a Colts drive alive.

I want to see an opposing defensive player take one of those cheap shots at Mannings knees that Colts defenders take at other teams QB's. They did it to Dilfer today after doing it twice to Leftwich last week.

Dilfer has done a great job so far. I don't think anyone expected this type of play from him.
The soft coverage on D frustrates me too but I think they're playing this way to cover up for average to below average talent in defensive personnel. It appears they want to avoid giving up the big play by keeping the receiver in front of them.

not just the BS block in the back but those taunting penalties.the colts guys were talking a ton of shit so they had to say something when they caught it.Look frisman tried to avoid the block in the back and he barely touched him...they called it cause it was right near the play. Now the Colts D officially hunts for injuries...that fat Dline coach has a past doing that.Week 1 he knocked boller out and hurt his toe by going for the legs...last week did u see them hunting at leftwich after he got sandwiched and hurt his leg?then dilfer gets the late hit on him and not even a call.Leftwich said in article while he was complaining that nobody has rly ever respected their Dline coach and he has a history for doing that. All i can say is that D is putting a target for teams to go after peyton manning.
