Browns hire Andrew Berry

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

I do wonder how these hires will effect the draft and FA. While the team has good players, we are very lacking in depth in key places, and also have made a lot of win now moves. While I do not see this as a rebuild, I think the Draft and FA will see a lot more quiet non splashy moves. In theory though, if Baker gets back to his year 1 self, and add even league average players on the O-Line, I think we see a huge improvement. That with discipline and good coaching will make a huge difference. You just wonder if they still see this as a have to win now before Baker gets a huge deal vs. long term sustain success.

We've seen multiple reports that Berry loved Stefanski during the interview process last off-season & the only GM name we've heard linked to Stefanski (until Paton's name came up late in the process) through the coaching search was Berry.

By all accounts, it seems as though, at the very least, Stefanski was always good with Berry in the role, even if he wasn't necessarily his 1st choice

Definitely, but they’d be foolish not to get out in front of any of the arranged marriage talk which will inevitably ensue from the hire.

I’d imagine they’ve (hopefully) been getting to know each other quite a bit already, so thoroughly explaining that is in their best interest from a PR perspective.

As much as some people might get off on me shoving something up my ass. I’m currently saving that for the good Lord. I will donate to the site, Australia fires, Kobe charity, whatever.

I’ll try and get more info on this when I can.

I like the hire but am rightfully skeptical.. It's hard to decipher just how much input Andrew Berry had on our draft picks during 1-31. I had no issue, whatsoever, with the strategy we employed (hoarding picks and casting a wide net). However, the picks themselves could not have gone much worse, in my opinion.

I'm hopeful that was equal parts Sashi and Hue.

Dangerous Daryl is on the radio once again being pessimistic about the hire.

If the guy hates the Browns so much, why doesn't he cover a different team or go to a different city?

And then I realized that no other team or city would hire him

Berry was also with the Browns through the 2018 season. He wasn't hired by the Eagles until February last year.

So when people say "he was part of 1-31"...he was also part of the turn around in 2018. It's weird that he gets the stink of Sashi's failures but none of the credit of Dorsey's success.

Cause it's pretty apparent Dorsey was only listening to his people

Anything Berry did ended up in the same bin as Depodesta's reports

If the Browns don't explain the process between Stefanski and Berry and the scenario in which they communicated and decided to move forward with this marriage, they're doing themselves a huge disservice.

I think out of professional courtesy to both of those guys, they'll keep any real details to themselves. They'll say something like "we got our guy", and not dwell on the process because it no longer matters.

I think some hard core fans may want to know, and of course the local media will want to shit-stir and see if they can generate some controversy. But personally, if I were giving the Browns advice, I wouldn't say a word about Paton.

Finally.

This is pretty fucking simple. You get a group of guys in an office that want to be together even if they dont agree on everything, which hopefully they don’t.

Mindblowing that it took this long. But at least they did it.

It's OK to not like something.

The kool-aid barely has any sugar, sugar.
