Browns hire Andrew Berry

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Apparently a very good scout of players, but a lousy manager. I mean, in terms of him getting a GM job, his resume includes strongly preferring Freddie Kitchens over Kevin Stefanski.

Would you really want to put a guy like that in charge of your organization?

Also, while he might be very good at some aspects of talent evaluation, he's also the guy who decided that Hubbard and Robinson were acceptable starting tackles, and when he made a major trade, further depleted the offensive line and our draft capital in favor of drafting a WR who hasn't made much of a difference here. Bottom line is that it was Dorsey's decisions that led to Baker having a terrible season.
After the way the browns ended the 2018 season it’s hard to blame him for Freddie. He looked like the perfect coach with the perfect system for baker.

as for the line he also got Wyatt teller. The best guard in football. He tried to trade for Trent Williams. There just wasn’t any options out there. I truly believe if he had another year he would have found some tackles.

He put together a team in one offseason that won a playoff game for the browns. He could wear a mask and a wig and want to be called mother for all I fucking care.

I see....

So exactly how many man-purses do you have, anyway?

Exceeding expectations and finding success in year one of a new regime is such an absolute luxury relative to all of the steps needed to make the leap to perennial contender moving forward. I expected 8-8 or 9-7 type of season, which would have been appropriate considering the challenges... but by doing what they've done, the buy in and culture moving forward will be nearly automatic. New-comers, returning players will all have no doubt as to what works and what doesn't and the credibility that Berry and Stefanski will get to enjoy moving forward puts regime-building on fast forward. It likely will help Berry from a recruiting standpoint as well. Having an 8-8 season with some disappointing loses/outcomes introduces just enough doubt to potentially be harmful in year two.

Just feeling so fortunate to be able to have the season we did from a long term health of the franchise moving forward, and I trust Berry and Stefanksi to not squander it or let it be a flash in the pan type season. The system/identity is there, the trust is there and the talent is evident at all levels.

If he had another year, none of it would've mattered because we'd still be rolling with Freddie fucking Kitchens as our head coach. We'd be out of draft picks, against salary cap hell, and Dorsey would be getting called into Haslam's office right about now.

He traded for teller because he created a massive hole by trading zeitler.

If you drill a hole in your fence big enough to let your neighbors dog through and then patch it the next year to prevent the dog from shitting in your yard all summer should we be commending you for your craftsmanship?

LMFAO...just close your eyes and listen...imagine Jimmy calling Berry "mother"

He looked like a guy completely in over his head after being handed a position he was remarkably unqualified for, after the Browns showed a modicum of offensive competence against largely terrible teams.

Personally none, but I would wear a man purse, a dress, makeup, a wig and a thong if it meant we would win on Sunday.

Lee....admit it. You'd do it all anyway. For nuttin'!

I'll square up. Stefanski is #1 and it's not particularly close.

Berry is firmly #2.

Bonus discussion: Callahan or Baker for #3?

What does Stefanski look like without the players Berry brought in? I think that makes it *close* at worst.

A good question would be: which is better, a Stefanski coached team with a Ray Farmer roster, or an Andrew Berry roster coached by Rob Chudzinski?
