Is Stefanski and Baker the most attractive head coach / starting QB combo in the NFL?

The other contenders would have to be in AZ with Kingsbury / Kyler and maybe the Rams with McVay / Goff? Any that I'm missing?

Only one you are missing is your man card.

It's probably been mentioned elsewhere, but I never really appreciated the nuances of game management and how time out usage fits into that equation. Watching Freddie mismanage games last year and seeing Romeo bungle key situations last weekend really makes me very grateful to have a head coach that understands this.

First game I can remember where I questioned multiple decisions he made throughout the game in real time.

Still, 8-3 is our best start since 1994. So when people say we haven't beaten anyone good yet I don't give a shit. We usually find ways to lose several of these close games we've won.

Stefanski is light years better than Hue and Freddie and all the others and he's 8-3 so he's impossible to dislike and even hard to criticize.

But not kicking the FG up 8 with 5 minutes was just a really odd decision.

Obviously if a first down happens before or after or the refs don't go into shady mode with the challenge, things look a bit different but it just felt like such an obvious call to take the points there. Had Jax converted the 2pt conversion, who knows.

Football has a lot of woulda coulda shoulda tho... and it isn't worth repeating possibilities over and over. Just really thought that decision was one that was not just bad... but was reckless.

Onto the next.

That hard count before the end of the 1st quarter tho....

It's the little things that make Stefanski so much better than everything we've had before.

Also his playing calling this game was pretty mediocre.

I don’t have a problem with the passing plays. It was working. But that 4th down pass to the sideline that was just barely a catch was a bad call. It worked but the odds of that working are so low. Should have ran it.

Definitely wasn’t his sharpest game on multiple fronts, but he still got the win.

You’d think with all the analytics guys in his ear he would’ve kicked a FG on that 4th down to make it a two possession game.

But even then, the success rate of 4th and inches is what...80%? So even then I can’t fault him too bad for going for it. There was definitely some questionable reffing that contributed to the situation in the first place.

In any case, he’s proven over the course of the season to be a competent and sound decision-maker that it would be a real shame if he wasn’t head coach of this team for at least a decade.

Oh I think he is absolutely a bright spot going forward, just today wasn't his best gsme

If Baker makes a few of those throws we are saying Stefanski coached a hell of a game. On that third down should have been a first down and we keep running the clock out. Hard to say it was a bad coached game when the players did not execute some easy plays.

Analytics says going for it was the correct decision.

Considering the Browns ran for over 200 yards and 6.3 YPC, I'm never really going to question running the ball on 4th and inches.

I didn't have an issue with going for it there, either.

However. Run the damn ball on 3rd down, too. Chances are you'll be able to gain a foot in two runs.

Stefanski has been awesome but he was undoubtedly bad today. Just some baffling decisions and play calls.

Not sure I agree with those percentages. Making it a 2 possession game with <6 minutes left only raises the winning percentage from 92 to 95. But getting a first down goes 92 to 98?
