BROWNS OFF-SEASON 2020

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Didn’t know where to post this but pretty fucking vile.

fuck Tonkin and the Steelers. This should be a LONG ban that will likely get brushed off as nothing.

This is "Pope defecating in woods" level surprising. Harrison ain't one to make up or even really exaggerate stories like this.

Should be comparable punishments to Bountygate, especially since Tomlin would be a known repeat offender, i.e. Tripgate/Jacoby Jones.

Everyone involved should have the same level of league blacklisting that Gregggggggg got.

Sounds like a whole lotta pessimism to me. If last year's goal was to "prove everybody right" - and, along with that came the overestimations and lack of preparedness - this season's goal is absolutely "prove everybody wrong."

Something tells me this is the kind of football team that thrives more on the latter.

Here's hoping.

Agreed.

There will be no excuses for Mayfield this year. Our team will go as far as he will take us. He has the protection (we think), he got rid of one of the worst coaches we have ever seen, he has all the weapons. He is in the best position for a QB to succeed since the Browns have been back other than possibly 2007.

Now he just has to put it all together and get back to and improve upon what he accomplished as a rookie.

[slight gravedig from a few weeks back on a thought I had]

Incidentally, this appeared to be the Weeden strategy in 2013: Chud designing a vertical offense specifically so that Weeds could succeed, and have 4 pro bowlers on offense.

It sounds ridiculous, but I think Chud was hoping that he could at least replicate Derek Anderson's Pro Bowl season, which would basically put Weeden at the "Dalton line" i.e. good enough for 10+ win seasons and possibly even more success if your defense also catches fire and you don't have bad luck breaks, i.e. Dalton going down and then the whole Burfict/AB84 fiasco during the Bengals' best season in that run.

He's not? I mean, the mere fact that you say it at all suggests you're not quite thinking straight.

If Tomlin denies it, and Harrison says "I was just messing around", this will go nowhere. And I think that's the most likely result. Alternatively....paying a guy's fine after the fact isn't quite the same thing as putting out a bounty ahead of time.
