BROWNS OFF-SEASON 2020

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
On one hand I am not sure how you can cancel the season. The only logic behind it would be that there is expected to be a vaccine in the next 6-12 months, and things will go back to normal in a year. Outside of a vaccine you never will be able to to stop COVID until you reach herd immunity. How long can you put off normal life for something that may have to run it’s course through all of the population before it stops.

It's ultimately going to come down to whether or not the players want to take the risk and play, because they are unionized.

I agree, I don't see the players wanting to give up the money, specifically in the NFL with how short careers are.

Better off-season than last year from a preparation standpoint it sounds like. All Freddie told Baker to do was take notes on the different tastes and textures when trying out wedding cakes last summer.

It does make you wonder what the hell he did last off-season, and what the hell did Kitchens and the coaching staff do last year.

"Players coaches" who worked the bottom of the roster hard but gave some of the starters the star treatment. Baker, Jarvis, and OBJ all made me nervous with the amount of practices time they took off.

I don’t know how you can have college sports this year. Unless all the athletes have classes remotely. I do believe the NFL will figure it out, the players need their checks. I would anticipate no fans in stadiums.

I feel like college football players are basically not going to have a say in the situation. Administrators and coaches are going to make the decision. I fear it will be money driven on the side of the universities.

As much as some of the college players are coming back asymptomatic. There are studies that have found asymptomatic people still have lung damage. I think the virus will definitely effect long term health of a certain percentage of players. The coaches and staff are also who they need to worry about.

I think the NFL will go back and forward with the Players union and it will ultimately be some sort of no fans in either a single bubble or multiple hub cities. I think they can figure out a way to bring in the appropriate revenue to make everyone happy. Getting more NFL games on national TV would definitely drive up their revenue. TV networks will be hungry for content in the fall so adding national TV games slot could definitely get a bidding war to make up for lack of ticket sales. Unlike other sports people will watch just about any NFL game.

"Browns, Browns-2019 season, Browns, I said what’s with the 2019 season. Browns-2019 season, some people can’t explain the 2019 season.”

Yes, I can see that happening, especially with college football. The Clemson and LSU outbreaks may be the tip of the spear for many teams in many different sports that are starting to regather.

But, there are still plenty of people in this forum, particularily the basketball threads, who just want things back to normal. Sure, we ALL want things back to normal, but that is just not going to happen.

The SEC and at least the southern half of the ACC are still going to be "play come hell or high water," I think, despite everything, and from what Franklin at PSU has indicated, the B1G likely will too.

On that note, I think non-revenue sports at many schools could be played with fans because in many cases, at least below D1, you're lucky if you get a few parents in the stands, if you're worried about distancing. I feel like the student-athletes deserve the chance to have their fall seasons if there's any way they can do it...

That would mean he's increased his time from the Combine by two-tenths of a second. If true, that's crazy. It would also make him one of the fastest players in the league. If I recall, John Ross set the Combine record with a 4.22, and he weighs forty pounds less than Nick Chubb.

So let me get this straight: Chubb leads the league in YAContact and is a top speed player built like a truck with great vision, who was 2nd in the league in rush yards and got an all-pro RT, a top drafted LT, and a coach that loves to run often and has had great success doing so.

Top 5 offense this year. Chubb is going to have a field day this year. Good god.
