BROWNS OFF-SEASON 2020

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

I'd love this.

Go extremely hard for the biggest need on the team. Don't hold back - we're literally an offensive line away from being able to compete the way we expected last year. We have a lot of cap (though obviously we'll need to pay some guys soon) and a lot of flexibility with it. There's no better time than now to try to make this core work especially if a 7th team could reach the playoffs lol.

The good news is that Conklin is only 25 and offensive linemen typically age better than most positions anyway, so he should be consistently solid/good for the life of his contract.

The bad news is that he’s going to be incredibly expensive. Like highest paid OL in the NFL expensive.

If my choices are spend huge money on him or Anthony Harris, I would probably pick Harris even though he’s older.

Who is the third best OT in FA?

Only suckers pay the premium for the best.

Really good will do.

Would Conklin move to LT if the Browns signed him?

I thought conklin has been somewhat meh the last two years, am I missing something?

There is defintely going to be a huge list of teams to fight against for Conklin. People are predicting ~$15M/yr.

Castonzo will remain a Colt or retire.
Bulaga will probably remain a Packer. Although I would go for him, if possible.

So that leaves us with a 1 & done Whitworth? Who said he wants to return only 1 more season with the Rams (although I wouldn't want to spend it on him, anyhow). Don't know about any of the other guys.

Also, saw this on a site. Instead of Harris, who will cost us more $, they had us picking up Boston:

31. S TRE BOSTONCLEVELAND BROWNS

Projected contract: 3 years, $8 million per year ($12 million guaranteed)

If there was an award for most underrated player in the NFL over the past three years, Boston would be the runaway favorite. Playing for the Chargers in 2017, Cardinals in 2018 and Panthers in 2019, Boston has produced a combined PFF coverage grade at free safety that’s the best in the NFL. He’s been responsible for only 13 catches at that alignment in that stretch while intercepting 10 and forcing 14 incompletions. The analytical Cleveland front office might be intrigued by the fact that Boston was the fifth most valuable safety in the NFL in 2019 and their free agent safety Damarious Randall was 34th.
