BROWNS OFF-SEASON 2020

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This is impossibly bad. Like fire the social media department bad. Not even the interns can stay.

it blows my mind that real life human beings actually thought this wouldn’t break the cringe meter. This is so fucking weird
Unbelievably weird, like i've never seen something like this in my entire life weird . . .

Who cares? Swagger died, someone probably said "Hey, why don't we have a funeral for him? Show that he mattered" and it's harmless, so why not.

Why are people getting up in arms about something so insignificant? Does it impact you at all? If there are some people who appreciated it, good for them. If you didn't appreciate it, then don't antagonize the people who did.

If you're going to use this as an opportunity to tear into people, you might want to look in the mirror at who you're calling dysfunctional. Let people do what they want. Let people enjoy things. It doesn't cost any extra to not be cruel to others.

@Triplethreat getting upset that someone dare call Barstool garbage and immediately responding with baseless assumptions about that individual is a pretty classic move. Stay classy, brochacho.

I think the team actually did right by Swagger. He was the longest tenured Brown, was a respectful good boy throughout his entire tenure, never got in trouble with the law, watched every single home game and never got out of hand, and he was the only Brown who rarely took a shit on the field even though he was the only one allowed to. If this team had half the discipline of Swagger they wouldn't be in the situation they are in. Heck, even the fans can learn from Swagger and Swagger Jr. Instead of ripping the team for giving a 12/10 good boy a proper send-off, fans should be asking, 'what would Swagger do?' because it wouldn't be getting drunk and belligerent (but told still allow for crotch sniffing).

Who cares?
Obviously a lot of people in this thread and on twitter. If you don’t care that they care that’s fine I guess but people definitely find it odd.

I’m not outraged, but I do think it’s one of the single oddest things I’ve seen a football team do. And honestly, people don’t want to see a dead dog on the Internet because everyone loves dogs.

I’m allowed to call the people who thought this was a good idea bad at their jobs without some spiritual inward reflective journey. People say poorly performing players themselves shouldn’t have jobs all the time and no one balks at that. Everyone involved with this did a bad job. You, one poster on an Internet forum, don’t get to collectively decide that no one should care. It’s obvious that people found it fucking weird.

Is it going to cost us ticket sales moving forward? No. Is it really that impactful? No. Is it one of the weirdest fucking things I’ve ever seen involving football? Yeah.

Do you think the Browns having a funeral for their mascot is "one of the single oddest things you've ever seen a football team do" or is it just that it was livestreamed online? Because...
The Browns didn’t even do the livestream. It was broadcast by Cleveland.com.

I also think framing it as showing a dead dog on the internet is a bit dishonest, as that wording invokes a very different image in a lot of people's minds than showing a funeral.

I'm fine with people who want to have a funeral for a mascot. I think the open casket thing was stupid. I could care less that Cleveland.com decided to stream it. I understand I'm not their target audience. This doesn't change my opinion of the Browns organization. It shows how desperate Cleveland.com is for anything to attract eyeballs, but that's the state of local media today.

Exactly who was anyone being cruel towards?

Portnoy is a disgusting person, and it trickles down from him. And aside from that, they're known for stealing content and passing it off as their own. Just pure trash.

Congrats on not liking them.

That won’t stop me from posting their content, so if you like it just ignore it and move on.I’m sure there are others here that will get a kick out of the stuff they’ll post.

No need for people bitching about it.

Why would we stop discussing it? Further, why do you think we should cater to what you like?

Call it like I see it. Barstool is trashy content from trashy people like David Portnoy.

Then ignore it.

Again, it’s not going to stop me from posting it, and you’re filling up the board with some trash complaining about something that has no effect on you if you just scroll past it.
