BROWNS OFF-SEASON 2020

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Ulrich:

It remains to be seen whether defensive end Olivier Vernon will follow a similar path. He's scheduled to make a team-high $15.5 million in salary and bonuses in 2020 after missing six games last season with a knee injury and finishing with just 3.5 sacks.

Asked if the Browns have tried to restructure Vernon's contract or if the situation is status quo, a league source recently said "status quo." Another league source recently said Vernon "is the one guy" the Browns "have shopped" on the trade market but they "would probably need to eat some of his salary" to complete a move.

He was a big name. I would've gone with the pinch runners from that era like Wayne Kirby and Ruben Amaro from that era.

Candy Maldonado was probably less known than Espinoza as far as bench players from then. Obviously everyone knew Tony Pena, so no dice there.

I'll also always hate Albie Lopez. That dude felt like the worst reliever in baseball history.

Enrique Wilson would be my guy, but he scored a run whilst nearly tumbling after rounding third and became a guy I loved. That run is burned into my memory.

Give me a slightly higher deal for Bradham on the Browns, then draft a linebacker and I think the LB corp is set.

Hubbard...ehh, he's fine as a 3rd T, I'm curious to see if Callahan can get him back to where Munchak had him.

I think shopping Vernon is fine, but if and only if you can sign Griffen or Clowney to replace him. Even with Clowney, I'm not sure if the upgrade is that big.
