BROWNS OFF-SEASON 2020

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yikes.

Adams over Polamalu is just a bad take.
Fair enough. It's not something I can defend, especially at this point in his career. But there's just something to the way he plays the game that I'm really high on. Size, athleticism, ability to play both coverage and in the box, with super high football IQ? I eat that shit up. Polamalu's definitely the better player around the line of scrimmage, but Adams is very good down there, and superior in coverage.

Maybe I'm misremembering Troy's coverage ability and completely selling the second best SS to ever play the game short. I honestly couldn't tell you the last time I went back to watch his film. I'm going off memory here. I remember him as a guy who was absolutely special in the box, but wasn't fantastic dropping back into man coverage. The Steelers were zone blitz heavy back then, and I remember him being the guy who would come up to show that he was attacking the line, then drop into a shallow zone rather than run with anyone down the field.

If that's the role you're looking to fill, then Polamalu's the best to ever do it. But I think Adams has a lot more versatility that plays up in today's NFL.

We're definitely far apart.

You put me on draft day picking between Polamalu and Adams, and if you can guarantee me Adams will play for my organization the rest of his career the way Troy did for Pittsburgh, I'm taking Adams.

Brett Kollman did a good video of why the Jets need to just sack up and pay the man. You don't let talents like him get away.

Well, if I viewed him the same way then I'd want to trade for him too lol..

Welp, another domino has fallen...there goes 2 more weeks of preseason games to go with the HOF game, although people were predicting this for a few days.

In light of the Cam news, interesting to note that Belicheat was talking a while back about quarantining one of the 3 QBs altogether, presumably Hoyer since he knows the system but by all signs is far behind Stidham, and simply have him work out at home the entire season if both other QBs stay healthy, and communicate with the team on Zoom.

Might be worth it with us; good question is whether it's Gilbert or Keenum. Keenum >>>> Gilbert, but you might want Keenum to be 100% good to go, with his system knowledge, if both other QBs have "flu-like symptoms" or "minor toe injuries that now take 3 weeks to recover from," which I fully expect will be NFL teams' way of publicly reporting most COVID-19 cases on injury reports, to try to minimize "shut it down" talk.

But Keenum is also probably much more valuable in the QB room and as a de-facto assistant OC, than off the field.

Browns signed third-round DT Jordan Elliott to a four-year contract.
Elliott was a top-25 player on some boards. Elliott (6’4/302) went to Texas as a top-150 high school recruit but transferred to Missouri where he started two seasons. He transformed his body going into his redshirt junior season, which led to more twitch off the line of scrimmage and more disruption with his pass rushing moves. His trimmed down build didn’t affect his play strength either. He remained strong against the run and eventually earned second-team Associated Press All-American after compiling 31 tackles, 8.5 TFLs, and 2.5 sacks. A 65th percentile Adjusted SPARQ athlete, Elliott offers quality starter potential at multiple interior positions, especially if he continues reshaping his physical build.

There also will be no supplementary draft.

I don't entirely agree on the premise; if you are a street free agent, your chances are likely better than ever to get a call to suit up midseason if a team gets a mass outbreak. Particularly if the coach/coordinator knows you, whether you are a UDFA, or are currently semi-retired i.e. Willis McGahee in 2013/Jay Cutler 2017.

Asshole. I was actually looking forward to him and Hooper. No way we get anything good for him.

Really don’t think we’ll miss him. Wonder what his trade value is?
