Browns trade Kessler to Jaguars

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm amazed we got anything for him. I don't blame him for how he looked last season. He got killed his rookie season since we didn't have a right tackle. I think the lack of a viable right tackle was the biggest misstep Sashi took that season.

Did we really get something for him? It's a conditional 7th round pick in 2019. The way I read this, if Kessler meets certain criteria we get Jax pick in the last round of NEXT year's draft. If he doesn't meet the criteria we get a ham sandwich.

What is the most entertaining to me is Kevin Hogan at this point is the last man standing.
Maybe for about a month until the draft. He is a goner too no doubt.

Hogan is no longer practice squad eligible so he's gone.

At least it's the potential to get something from him. He was getting waived either way after the draft. This way maybe we don't have to pay him any guaranteed money left on his contract.

That's probably for the best. If he hasn't fixed his mechanics in 2 years it most likely will never happen. The hitch he has in his throwing motion makes it too easy to pick off his passes.

Kessler is a poor mans Colt McCoy. (in a sense) He was never gonna be : "the man"

Does it come with Stadium Mustard? And homemade potato salad?

If so...that ain't bad!

Wow the Jags have really bad taste in qbs as well.

The way I had heard it, Hue wasn't gung ho about any of the top tier QBs and mentioned interest in Kessler as a later development project. Then Sashi took "Hue's guy" but showed off his inexperience taking him so early.

At any rate, the front office wouldn't do something that dumb this year. They have better evaluators and more experience maximizing assets.

Is that you Mary K?

Let's not forget that Belichick took Brisset in Round 3 ahead of Cody while having Brady and Jimmy G on the roster, so let's not pretend Sashi was the only one who reached on a QB. You can even make the case that the Browns got more out of Cody than NE got out of Jacoby, so this sort of throws the whole "showed his inexperience" out the window. Bill B did the same thing. QBs get overdrafted.
