Just figured we could use a fresh thread anticipating the excitement of the daily camp news. Rookies will report July 22nd, rest of team will follow through a few days after.

This will be a place to follow all clips for sure in which I'm looking forward to. Whether it be interviews or plays, post all please.

Winovich bulked up since last season. He wants to be a 4-3 DE.
Whenever guys do this, I worry. Too often, by bulking up, they lose whatever trait made them an NFL caliber rotational piece to begin with, and they can't perform the task they bulked up for at an NFL caliber level.

In Winovich's case, I don't think bulking up a little will turn him into a 4-3 DE who can set the edge and be stout against the run. I also think that bulking up can hinder the flexibility and agility/acceleration that made him stick around in the league to begin with.

Pretty surprised to see Chase be that big. I know the Browns like those big DE's, so I can understand it, but Chase's whole selling point was that he's explosive off the edge.

He sort of looks unhealthy… but if he passed a physical, which always includes a max target weight, he’s probably good in the teams eyes. Weird.

Curious if the Browns presented him with such a plan to bulk up and play more on the line spelling Myles and Clowney.

Well, you gotta think that it IS unhealthy for him to be that big naturally, but...if he's still a high functioning athlete...

I don't think it's him being in bad shape, I'm sure they did. I think he's the 3rd END for sure.

Fuck him for cutting the hair. I wanted my Clay Mathews look back under the Orange helmet. I cant reiterate how pissed at Chase I am.

Not sure about unhealthy, maybe he is just wear a Shmedium Jersey?

Browns placed CB Denzel Ward (foot) and OT Jack Conklin (patella) on the active/PUP list.

Ward had said he'd been good for camp, so it's probably not a big deal that he's not ready for Day 1. Players can be activated off the active/PUP list in camp at any time. Ward suffered the injury on the final day of minicamp. Conklin tore his patella in November and his health for the season is more in question than Ward. He'll be one to watch as camp really ramps up and preseason games start.
