Car Advice

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Tesla batteries aren't produced in China, so I'm not sure how that's relevant.

The cars last 1 million miles, so any emissions currently used to manufacture one have to be compared to manufacturing 3 to 5 gas or diesel cars. And the emissions in manufacturing are because of the electricity source, which is also being transitioned to emissions free sources.

As emissions generated powering them. It's electricity, we know how to generate that emissions free and are increasingly doing so. People don't have to wait for the grid to get updated, they can install solar in their homes to do just that.

Goal and natural gas power plants are going away because utilities are figuring out it's more cost effective to shut them down and replace them with renewable sources.

There is no path to carbon neutral by producing and selling more gas/diesel vehicles. There is a clear path to dosing so with EVs.

So the Bronco is returning, anyone else looking forward to it? Ford for some reason just keeps teasing what the design will be, still haven't said exactly when we will get the final look. Will probably be disappointed but who knows.

The goal is to compete with the Wrangler. Its going to have a 2 door option, removable doors and a removable hard top. Kind of bummed its going to get the 2.3L turboed Ecotec- I don't trust this engine to really tow anything (same engine as the RS, but tuned differently) and I want the Bronco as a tow vehicle. Maybe it surprises me, but that engine had gasket issues in the RS that to me would only exascerbate under load; maybe they sorted all that out. Doubt it has a diesel option.

take it for a test drive. After the test drive ask for an overnight test. Also figure out how much it will save you in gas/maintenance and factor that into the cost. The only maintenance is rotating the tires and adding windshield wiper fluid.

In addition, consider how far the value of a non EV is likely to drop over the next few years as demand continues to increase for EVs as is already happening in the luxury car market.

If you do decide to order one, use this link for 1k free supercharging miles. Since I already have free supercharging, I don't get anything if you use the link, it just helps you out.

Chea it's just that the price of entry is too high for me right now. Just took on a larger mortgage, have thousands of work that needs done on new house, etc etc. Current car is paid off and has been super reliable since I bought it with ~20k (just crossed 100k and finally needs some work). Going down my wants/needs list the only thing my current vehicle doesn't check off is rear doors/windows for my dogs, lol. Quick, small, reliable, 5+ cylinders, manual transmission, moderately practical. My 128i checks all those boxes again except for rear doors for the dogs (surprisingly it holds 8 foot lumber just fine). A Golf R would be perfect except I really don't like 4 cylinders. It's a dumb emotional thing for sure but nothing beats revving up an inline six.

I think I will ride my car out another year at least then see how the used market is.

I want the Jetsons sound

that would be great! And is possible for them to implement in a software update (new cars have external speakers for pedestrian sounds, older ones don't have it)

certainly worth waiting, just be sure to factor in fuel and maintenance costs when you do decide.

I'm curious about it. I think Ford knows how important the "official reveal" will be which is why I think it keeps getting delayed.

I've read some theories that Ford might reveal how it looks in a Super Bowl ad which probably makes quite a bit of sense from a marketing standpoint.

Unbreakable glass blunder aside, what do you guys think of the Tesla truck design?
