Caris LeVert: Drunken Kung Fu

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Is LeVert back in 2023-24?

  • Cavs can't afford the $$$ to keep him and nothing is going to change that

  • After bricking shot after shot in the playoffs, Koby washes his hand and lets LeVert walk

  • Only if he signs for something close to the MLE

  • If Caris plays well in the playoffs, the Cavs will offer big $$$ to keep him

  • KobyAltman! No one else on the team fills his role, so stop sitting on your hands!

Hmm go to the game thread. I said cavs would beat Detroit, without our staring backcourt. I watch every second buddy.

Right. Because we still had a young center who scored 23 points on 16 shots, with 7 rebounds and 2 blocks in 31 minutes, and makes on $20M/year. A defensive-minded center who was actually our high scorer in that game.

And you want to trade him.

Yes for a Brandon Ingram type I would yes

Yeah, I don't get it at all. After we included Lauri in the Mitchell trade, the Allen trade talk just seems crazy to me. It's not that we're mediocre team when Allen goes down, we're a bad team.

Not saying I told you so but... I told you so. This guy kinda sucks.
It’s really strange to see smart people on here put so much value into a 10 game sample when we have multiple years of his career to go back and look at. I guess fandom really does make people delusional in some respects.

He'll be better once he plays in his proper position (off the bench guard alongside either Mitchell, Garland, or Rubio/Neto).
Why he's playing in the 3 slot is a combination of lack of (available) talent at that position, JBB's insistence that he start, and also JBB's need to have multiple playmakers around since there is no real offensive game plan other than PnR and Savior Ball.

His entire career is not of a guy who sucks.

So yea, people got too hyped too quickly but then turning around and saying he sucks based on his career? Hogwash.

He's being miscast. Everyone knows it.

I don't think he sucks. I do think he needs to be surrounded by very specific personnel to thrive in the role he prefers and I'm not sure how good that team would be.

Inefficient chucker.

Career TS%? 52.5%

2022-23 TS%? 51.4% (and the only reason it is this high is he's shooting much better from 3 than he has in his entire career - he's going to regress to his mean over the season)

This is who he is.

Shooting 37% from 2. Please, someone, for the love of all that is holy, make him stop!

He’s been a poor defender and an inefficient scorer who hunts for 1-on-1 midrange shots his whole career. But people here got duped as they usually do because they miss the forest for the trees and can’t shake the hopium. At 28 years old he didn’t all of a sudden become a sniper and a lockdown defender, and people should know better than overvaluing a few games worth of sample size. He’s good at finding the bigs once he’s in the paint, but outside of that, his game largely sucks.

He was brought in to be a 2 and a secondary playmaker to Garland. With Mitchell, he's just not a fit. Trying to make him a starting 3 with Garland and Mitchell is comically stupid. There aren't many possible worse fits than those 3 and their +/- together shows that. And Levert just isn't that good to begin with.

But he's not chucking?? Missing shots does not = chucking.

You're right, let's start Cedi or trade for Crowder.
