He’s overdue for a breakout
You’re welcome.
He’s overdue for a breakout
Right now he is performing at this level 1 in every 10ish games. If he can bump that up to 3-4 every 10...then ya we are on to something
I didn't intend for that to seem like a LeVert diss- I am merely saying that- for whatever reason (injury, adjusting to his role, contract year) He has yet to string together a small sample size of good games consistently. I would prefer 10-14 ppg, 3-4 assists, & good defense consistently versus looking mentally handicapped half the time and then dropping 30-40 every few weeks.I really don't think that's a fair way to assess his season so far. Like it or not, he was way above average in advanced metrics before Garland came back. His shooting percentage was not great, but he was helping the team win with the best plus/minus on the squad and stacking floor game counting stats to boot.
When Garland came in and took his Robin role as a playmaker, he was lost.
I mentioned this in the game thread: If we get LeVert comfortable in a 6th or 7th man role - which is completely unlike what he was asked to do to start the year - it's time to respect his versatility rather than bag on his time to adjust.
I look at the coach when young players regress, when players who are supposed to be In Their primes are posting career lows. Almost like not running an offensive system and relying on hero ball makes role players play …. Worse
While I think a lot could be on the coaches, as a professional basketball player, I just feel like you got to adjust and get yourself together.
