Caris LeVert: Drunken Kung Fu

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Is LeVert back in 2023-24?

  • Cavs can't afford the $$$ to keep him and nothing is going to change that

  • After bricking shot after shot in the playoffs, Koby washes his hand and lets LeVert walk

  • Only if he signs for something close to the MLE

  • If Caris plays well in the playoffs, the Cavs will offer big $$$ to keep him

  • KobyAltman! No one else on the team fills his role, so stop sitting on your hands!

To those saying LeVert will bolt for a starting opportunity and more money: I'd be surprised..

Of the teams with projected cap space, who realistically is a fit for him: Houston, Orlando, San Antonio, Utah, Detroit, OKC, Lakers, Charlotte, Indiana, Sacramento, Dallas and Portland... Maybe Dallas, Portland and Charlotte?

Thinking back to the last two trade deadlines, the interest in trading for LeVert around the league was minimal.. I have a hard time seeing a half-season of sustained productivity in a contract year is going to change many people's views..

It also seems like LeVert is big on the fit and finally comfortable here... After being traded around and trying to find his way, I have a feeling he's going to prefer some consistency, even if it means a lesser role and money, over trying to cash in...

Ultimately, I think some sort of compromise like a 3-year, $51M deal with a third year option being the most likely scenario... Both the Cavs and LeVert are motivated to retain each other which usually leads to something getting done..

LeVert highlights from the Orlando game:

I definitely think there is a solid chance he'd leave for a starting role, and a decent chance some of those teams listed would offer it. I mean, honestly he'd fit nicely on Dallas and basically exactly what they need there. He seems to know that's really where he belongs. Now what will be tough for him is, does he go somewhere to be a starter or stay on a team likely to continue to rise and maybe even be a legacy like team? Better to be 6th man on a 3 peat potential team or better to start on a good perhaps even win one team?

Dallas is the biggest threat for him imo. They need defenders and this guy has proven he can defend his ass off. Dallas is desperate right now.

I would be surprised if LeVert's back. He wants to start and imo, he isn't as positive of impact like many on here think. Him going into a slump right when the playoffs begin, would be so "LeVert".

The Cavs are going with a healthy Rubio in 2023-24 and bring in shooters to fill out the roster, which is badly needed. So LeVert and Cedi will bid adios.

I'm thinking Orlando might be his best fit from that list. They need a playmaking wing, can start him at SG, and have the money to throw at him.

he would be a good addition to that team and, since they are in the East, I hope he doesn't go there.

LeVert wants to be a Cavalier...he’s tired of being on different teams and wants to settle in with this team.

Out tomorrow with right knee soreness. Everyone is banged up.

I read the comments another way. Caris feels like he is most comfortable as a 2 and if he wanted counting stats thats where he would force his way to. However, he is sacrificing all of that to be a chameleon and fill whatever role the team needs on a particular night. I think this speaks very highly of his character and why I'm really down to keep him around next year

I think he is being a good teammate, which is very important in a contract year. But at the end of the season, when he is a free agent and can go be a good teammate on a different team, I think he's more likely going to go to a team where he can start.

He obviously owes this franchise nothing after this season.
